Responsibilities
Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud

Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers
Understand and follow the company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of all medications, devices, supplements and supplies
Maintain departmental standards including keeping clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas
Count, measure and prepare specified product using company best practices
Complete billing procedures adequately to assure best value to the customer and the company
Answer phone and triage calls and answer inquiries as appropriate
Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, limits on cash shortages and company shrink guidelines
Understand and follow the company guidelines on the operation of the cash register and follow all cashier handling policies to prevent loss including tendering electronic fund transactions such as Credit/Debit Cards, EBT and Gift Cards, as well as cash and check transactions
Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing
Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist's professional judgement
Understand and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the company's policies regarding the same
Support company health and wellness initiatives
Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries

Work Environment
The outpatient pharmacy is situated within a hospital, encompassing a team of 50 members including pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy technicians. It is a fast-paced environment where techs are on their feet all day. The pharmacy works closely with doctors and nurses and supports the OR, vaccine clinic, mail order, and other hospital clinics. Technicians must be comfortable interacting face-to-face with patients and managing a high volume of prescriptions daily.In

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Reviews and complies with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
+ Helps healthcare providers and patients by greeting them in person or by phone; answering questions and request; referring inquiries to the Pharmacist that require their attention.
+ Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level: anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
+ Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques, creates claims for order errors and damaged goods.
+ Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
+ Performs duties assigned by the Pharmacist such as utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct and checking for possible interactions.
+ Reports, immediately, prescription error to the Pharmacist and adheres to company policies and procedures in regards to pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
+ Follows all applicable government regulations including HIPAA, Medicare and Co-pay requirements.
+ Engages patients by offering assistance, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
+ Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
+ Direct and assist team members as needed to maintain workflow and meet/ complete deadlines as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on duty.
+ Process claims for 3rd party reimbursement efficiently and correctly to third-party insurance providers to obtain payment.
+ Earns and maintains certification and licensure as required per state regulations. Attends training and completes as requested by the Pharmacy Manager and acquires continuing education credits.
+ Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
+ Other duties as assigned.

The Pharmacy Tech is responsible for performing the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medical preparation, distribution, record-keeping, and inventory control. This includes the calculation of dosages, verifying patient information and physician drug authorization, assisting under supervision with compounding or admixing medication, and properly disposing of all materials used. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of records, logs, and MSDS sheets, and for performing any other administrative tasks necessary. This position will require travel to all CSNF locations. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision.
Assist with retail pharmacy medications according to policy.
Checks all orders for completeness of information; verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing.
Under supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
Calculates correct dosages, including the conversion between metric and apothecary equivalents. Calculations are subject to final verification.
Maintains indigent patient drug program as needed.
Counts controlled drugs weekly and maintain records.
Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IV's.
Cleans hood and/or 797 clean room daily and in between I.V. admixing.
Logs and dates all drugs that are being used, checks drugs monthly for outdates, keeps accurate temperature logs, maintains all logs required by pharmacy policy.
Keeps accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
Maintains proper control documentations, including lot numbers.
Assists with inventory control of medications and other supplies to ensure that standard drug supplies are in adequate supply in all departments; receives and shelves medications.
