The Department of Pharmacy's mission is to provide high quality pharmaceutical care to our patients in an atmosphere of educational growth, shared respect and communication. We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Coordinator A to join our pharmacy team within the Weinberg Oncology Pharmacy (inpatient and ambulatory oncology infusion) as part of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The Weinberg Oncology Pharmacy services 100 beds including medical oncology and hematologic malignancy service lines. The pharmacy also serves approximately 180-200 patients each weekday at the three ambulatory oncology infusion centers located at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Green Spring Station.
The Pharmacist Coordinator A will review, assess, and verify complex medication orders (including chemotherapy), complete therapeutic drug monitoring (e.g., vancomycin, methotrexate, anticoagulation), and collaborate with the Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Specialists and interdisciplinary team. They will also provide oversight of the complex oncology pharmacy operations that supports 100 inpatient beds, ambulatory bone marrow transplant (BMT)/cellular therapy patients, and 3 ambulatory infusion clinics.
The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY-2 specialty practice programs. Additionally, the successful candidate will participate in longitudinal operational projects, support drug research conducted by the institution, and seek to assume a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.
