Purpose Statement: The District Lead Counselor will enhance student success by developing and implementing a comprehensive district-wide school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and interpersonal needs of all students. This role involves providing leadership and support to district counselors, career center specialists, and counseling support staff.

Primary Responsibilities:
Program Management: Oversee the implementation of the district's comprehensive counseling program, ensuring it aligns with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) standards, Arizona state standards, and district guidelines.
Student Support: Facilitate programs for academic success, college and career readiness, and interpersonal development.
Career Development: Collaborate with Academic Services and Career Technical Education to implement the district's career literacy program, while leading the development and implementation of the district's student Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP).
Professional Development: Provide leadership and professional development for school counselors, including training on crisis management, college and career readiness, and data interpretation. Additionally, train, monitor and mentor new high school counselors.
Collaboration: Collaborate with administrators, parents, and community partners to address student needs and concerns. Represent the district on advisory boards and committees of relevant community partner organizations.
Data Management: Develop systems to monitor and track student progress in areas such as academic performance, attendance, and college/career readiness.
Policy and Procedure: Collaborate with district leadership to uphold district policies and develop school counseling and academic procedures that ensure consistency across all high schools.
Support Transition Activities: Support and lead college and career readiness initiatives through district transition activities and events, including the transition from 8th grade to high school and from high school to postsecondary education.
Advocate: Advocate for students and school counselors at the district level during the creation, modification, and development of policies and procedures.
Communicate: Effectively communicate all pertinent information to professional groups. Maintain an internal portal for Counselors, Career Center Specialists, and Records Specialists, providing relevant information and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success
Knowledge of college and career readiness and career development.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education (Minimum): A Master's Degree in School Counseling or related field is required.
Certificates: Standard K-12 School Counseling Certificate required.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a school counselor, with evidence of successful leadership in school counseling.
Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid and current IVP fingerprint clearance card at the time of hire

Performs a variety of duties in the processing of payroll for the organization. Requires critical thinking in researching and analyzing data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Duties include: completing and reviewing employees biweekly pay; responding to employee and supervisor questions and resolving routine issues; performing data input; preparing required reports; and maintaining related records.
Essential Functions:
Assists in the preparation of various reports (e.g. bank reconciliation, state and federal quarterly taxes) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information to district personnel, local, county, state and/or federal agencies
Applies Federal and State tax laws to ensure compliance in withholding, payment, and reporting of payroll taxes withheld and voluntary deductions. Reconciles and submits reports and payments to governing agencies as determined to avoid penalties.
Maintains payroll-related records (e.g. employee pay classi?cation, dependent status, available sick leave, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the timely and accurate compensation of District employees.
Responds to inquiries for the purpose of providing information or direction to appropriate source. Creates/implements queries and processes a variety of reports (e.g. deductions, retired employees, court order adjustments, subpoena of payroll records, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate compliance of requests
Serves as a back up for the purpose of ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in the absence of the Payroll Manager.
Researches, analyzes, and responds to inquiries from District employees. Responds to outside entities regarding payroll issues, procedures and District policies. Notifies District employees regarding changes to their salary, paychecks, or payroll procedures, as assigned.
Acts as the payroll records administrator ensuring proper compliance with the various federal, state and local laws affecting the maintenance and retention of all payroll related records.
Researches and submits employee histories for salary verification requests from various institutions.
Attends seminars and meetings to keep updated on payroll procedures and shares learned information with payroll staff. Assists with presenting payroll procedures to District staff.
Collaborates with other district staff in identifying needs and resolving problems regardingsoftware systems that integrate with the payroll system, payroll expenditures, encumbrances, and payroll policies and procedures.

Summary: Under general supervision, incumbent(s) conducts training of bus drivers and bus assistants such as new hire orientation, commercial driver's license preparation, follow-up and post-accident training, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), AED, and first aid preparation. Incumbent(s) performs pre-trip bus inspections, performs driving evaluations, and conducts bus evacuation exercises. Incumbent(s) provides transportation for students to and from school.
Essential Functions:
Conducts training of new bus drivers for preparation to obtain a commercial driver's license and to ensure compliance with District procedures and federal and state laws. Conducts follow-up training and post-accident training to current bus drivers and bus assistants. Completes training rubric and notifies Director of Transportation of training results.
Provides transportation for students to and from school including driving through neighborhoods, congested traffic and on major streets while practicing defensive driving methods. Assess emergency breakdowns by determining problem and when to call office for assistance. Maintains order on the bus according to state law and District policy by monitoring student behavior in mirror and using public announcement system.
Assists with the implementation of training programs for bus assistants and bus drivers consistent with Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Arizona requirements.
Conducts bus evacuation exercises as required by Federal Regulations and Department of Public Safety (DPS). Assists with the development and implementation of student school bus safety programs.
Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid training for bus drivers and bus assistants to obtain required certification. Acts as a third-party tester by giving road tests, and determining whether bus driver qualifies for a commercial driver's license.
Performs pre-trip bus inspections by examining bus seats, floors, windows, windshields, lights and lenses, turn signals, horns, bus emblems, seatbelts, tire condition, fuel and oil capacity, brake effectiveness, and other minor bus repairs. Performs driving evaluations for bus drivers to ensure compliance with applicable procedures and laws. Documents results of bus inspections and driving evaluations and provides results to Director of Transportation.
Attends meetings, conferences, and training seminars in order to stay updated on current laws and regulations, methods, and techniques in regards to school district transportation. Maintains valid commercial driver's license and first aid and CPR certification.
