The Youth Peer Partner also provides one-on-one peer support for youth/young adults navigating systems and aim to amplify their voices across multiple systems and within Wraparound Team Meetings. Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that specializes in providing services that are both trauma-informed and recovery-oriented to persons/consumers with mental illness and addictions. Trauma-informed care includes safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves Hood River, Wasco and Sherman Counties and utilizes a consumer-involved, consumer-engaged and consumer-driven model. MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit, intensive case management, ongoing counseling, community support, supported employment, jail diversion, hospital discharges, hearings and more. What you'll need: Any combination of education, licensure, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position's essential responsibilities. This includes: High school diploma or GED. Be certified as a Peer Delivered Service Provider through the Oregon Health Authority or obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Have previous or current lived experience as a mental health treatment consumer, and/or support a family member with experience as a mental health treatment consumer, as defined by OAR 309-018-0105. Qualifications: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Peer Support Specialist Certification and Traditional Health Worker Certification required. * Must have lived experience as a youth who has experienced mental, emotional and/or behavioral health problems and/or has had multiple child systems services involvement. * Must be 21+ and possess a valid driver's license Primary Responsibilities: * Utilize personal and professional life experience to provide peer support to youth served by Adapt Integrated Health Care * Provide information, training and support to youth to empower them to fully engage in services and supports. * Participate in team meetings, such as Wraparound, IIBHT, Healthy Transitions, to assure youth access, voice, and choice. * Learn the youth's story, strengths, needs and cultural prospective and serve as bridge to ensure that the youth and providers understand each other's perspective. * Provide support and model self-advocacy in a variety of settings; settings included but not limited to: Child and Family Team Meetings, Schools, Courtroom, Child Welfare reunification planning, Treatment Reviews (inpatient and outpatient), Other medical/therapeutic appointments * Empower young people to articulate their concerns and needs effectively; * Maintain local resource information and educate young people in resource research to enhance their independence; * Support the development and connection of young people to natural supports within their community; * Model effective coping techniques. * Provide a consistent source of encouragement and hope while also providing non-judgmental, unconditional support to youth. * Other duties as assigned.
