Removes, extracts, and rescues persons from danger. Recognizes acute symptoms requiring immediate care; administers life-saving rescue procedures to injured or afflicted persons. Performs salvage operations including throwing salvage covers, sweeping water, removing debris, and placing smoke ejectors. Performs fire company inspections, and pre-fire planning. Connects hose to hydrants and pumps; joins hose sections and connects nozzles to hose; enters burning buildings with or without hose lines; operates nozzles. HCPs work administratively under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager while performing healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors who collaborate with CBP's Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO).
