Under the supervision of a Salt Lake City Fire Department (SLCFD) Officer and the direction of SLCFD's Medical Division personnel, these positions will provide basic emergency and advanced life support, medical care, and transport to victims of sudden illness and accident upon arrival on scene. The Medical Response Paramedics will not have firefighting-related duties. Medical Response Paramedics (MRPs) will work alongside firefighter/EMTs and social workers (Community Health Access Team) on the Medical Response Team. The MRP will be assigned to a medical squad unit. The work week is 40 hours, with schedules of either Mon-Wed or Thurs-Sat. The first day of each shift is 14 hours (7:30 am - 9:30 pm), and days two and three are 13 hours (7:30 am - 8:30 pm).
