What are the main duties? Responds to emergency and fire scenes. Provides medical aid. Participates in fire suppression activities and in hazardous materials operations. Operates equipment and vehicles such as pumps, nozzles, ladders, hydrants, extinguishers, generators, etc. Searches for and rescues victims from buildings, autos, mountains, etc. Participates in post-emergency salvage operations and cleanup. Current Paramedic License through the Utah State Bureau of EMS standards and have been employed in that capacity within the last 6 months. Firefighter I & II certifications (NFPA and Utah Fire and Rescue Academy standards). A valid, lawful Utah State driver license. Lateral transfers may be brought in at the Firefighter/Paramedic, Senior Firefighter/Paramedic, or Master Firefighter/Paramedic level depending on qualifications. Firefighter Paramedic - In addition to the minimum qualifications above, requires a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as a medical response firefighter. Senior Firefighter Paramedic - In addition to the minimum qualifications above, requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a medical response firefighter, 2 years of which must have been as a certified paramedic; and ADO-A, ADO-P, Fire Instructor I, and Company Officer Inspector certifications.
