Paramedic Position Summary:
The Paramedic performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature. This may include observing and monitoring patient condition, identifying changes in collected patient data and notifying nurse, setting-up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment, knowledge of aseptic technique, collecting blood specimens and performing related, delegated nursing procedures.
Paramedic Key Accountabilities:
Supports the Emergency Center in direct patient care of patients with diverse injuries and illnesses
Functions as a defined team member in the resuscitation of trauma and critical care patients
Utilizes critical thinking to bridge the gap of paramedic and nurse/physician evaluation of patient illness, injury, and presentation
Recognizes and intervenes within the defined Scope of Practice during situations that may place the patient and family at risk
Provides expertise to patients by collecting data, documentation of interventions, and performs treatments required for pediatric patients under the direction of the registered nurse to ensure safe patient care and to assist to prevent morbidities of intervention for illness and injury
Paramedic Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement
2 years in an acute healthcare setting/prehospital environment with direct patient care
Licensed Paramedic certification required in the State of Florida
BLS and ACLS required; must obtain PALS within one year of employment
Ability to communicate and relate well to people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience
Salary Range: Minimum 17.44 per hour - Maximum 27.90 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Fire Captain, primarily performs aircraft rescue and firefighting duties, first responder EMT and Paramedic duties, and building fire and rescue response to include general fire protection and fire suppression/prevention functions to ensure the safety of passengers, airport personnel and property.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Drives fire apparatus including aircraft rescue fire fighting vehicles to fire and incident scenes.
Transports equipment and safety personnel safely and quickly to and from a fire and rescue scene assuring adequate water, chemicals, and equipment are supplied.
Operates apparatus at fire scenes. Locates water supply, monitors pressure on hoses and nozzles, makes adjustments for calculated friction loss, and establishes fire stream.
Lays and connects hose lines and operates handheld and stationary nozzles directing water and foam streams. Operates portable fire extinguisher.
Responsible for upkeep and operational testing of assigned vehicle and related equipment.
Maintains basic life support equipment and apparatus. Checks medical supply inventory. Reports any equipment malfunction or missing supplies to the Fire Captain.
Inspects fire apparatus daily to ensure radio, pumps, gauges, engine, oil pressure, brakes and all systems are functioning properly. Checks the vehicle's condition including compartments to assure supplies are stocked and water, chemical, and agent levels are adequate. Cleans all equipment to include detailing. Reports any problems to the Fire Captain.
Performs salvage operation at fire and accident scenes such as cleaning debris, fuel, and chemical spills.
Attends training classes to become familiar with Airport facilities and operations, ARFF operations, runways, roads, and alternative routes to emergency scenes; learns fire hydrant and water source locations; participates in continuing study, training, and drill activity to achieve further certification, maintains required skills, and attain health and physical strength.
Completes and files reports on fires, accidents, rescue operations, hazardous conditions, training, vehicle work orders, inspections, fire alarms and other relevant reports. Attends training classes and re-certification classes as required by the Department, FAA, TSA, or the State of Florida.
Performs a variety of routine tasks in connection with the maintenance of the station, quarters, and grounds; maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
Responding to emergencies: Paramedics are often the first medical professionals to arrive at the scene of an emergency, such as a car accident.
Assessing patients: Paramedics evaluate a patient's condition and determine the appropriate treatment

Hiring Salary: Up to $25.5522 per hour *56 hour work week, with 5 years of experience. Candidates who are a current Florida State Firefighter II and possess a Paramedic Certification prior to employment will receive an additional one time $10,000 certification payment at the end of their probationary year. Starting Salary Above Minimum Based on Experience: Candidates whose qualifications are higher than the minimum required for the position may be eligible to receive starting pay above the minimum for the applicable grade. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
* Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy

Strategic/Transformational Duties and Responsibilities
Provides exceptional customer service and patient care under the direction of the CORE Community Paramedic for patients facing crisis from Opioid Use Disorder in a safe, courteous and professional manner.
Participates in the performance quality improvement (PQI) process and uses data to improve services and outcomes.
Transactional/Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
