GENERAL CLASS DESCRIPTION: Under direct supervision of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), Nurse Manager, or designee, assists with patient care services. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Assists with patient care in the Emergency Department and other hospital units under the paramedic scope of practice. Participates in emergency response to Code Blue events, Rapid Response requests, and Dr. Strong requests. Qualifications Requirements include but are not limited to: High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Current State of Iowa Paramedic certification. Required to be current in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and PHTLS (or within 1 year of hire). Valid and unrestricted and appropriate Iowa Driver License (minimum Class 3D). Required to show proof of having completed Mandatory Reporter course at time of hire or attend within 6 months of start date.
