Qualification Guidelines To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities, and enable the individual to successfully perform the essential job functions of the position. A typical combination is: Education and/or Experience: Graduation from high school or attainment of GED or CHSPE certificate is required, California State Basic Fire Academy graduate. Completion of a certified paramedic program is required. Within three (3) months of appointment, employee must be accredited by Los Angeles County. Medical Standards : Must be capable of meeting pre-employment physical standards required for the position.
