The omission of specific duties/responsibilities does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment to the position. **MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Core** + Provides donor satisfaction through appropriate interaction and responsiveness to donor needs. + Determines donor suitability by evaluating normal healthy donors for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations that meet the criteria of normal plasma donors in accordance with SOPs, the FDA, OSHA, CLIA and cGMP and company policies as well as educational experience. + Consults with Center Medical Director, as needed. + Performs physical examinations for donors and reviews accumulated data in a timely manner to confirm donor suitability. + Promotes donor education of the plasma donation process to encourage a positive donor experience. + Answers and discusses donor questions and ensures the donor is given a clear opportunity to refuse participation. + Explains and informs consent for plasmapheresis and immunization to donors including a description of the plasmapheresis procedure, hazards, potential adverse reactions, and specific immunization programs. + Provides treatment to donors who experience adverse reactions to the plasma donation procedure (i.e. Hypotensive Reaction, Citrate Reaction, Local Injury, Allergic Reaction, etc.) or immunization. + Contacts emergency services if medical treatment exceeds scope of individual license or ability, as needed. + Notifies Center Medical Director if donors are transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to an urgent care or hospital. + Assists in performing the following duties in the plasma collection center, as necessary: + Completes plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures. + Ensures donor safety and monitors for reactions + Encourages donor's return visits by maintaining a cheerful and friendly attitude. + Ensures accurate documentation on the donor chart. + Administers immunizations following SOPs and manufacturers guidelines and monitors responses. + Provides appropriate and confidential counseling to donors, as needed. + Maintains the plasma collection center's emergency medical kit and equipment in accordance with SOPs to ensure equipment is up to date and functioning properly. + Reviews test results and consults with Center Medical Director on any unusual, abnormal, or elevated test results and non-routine situations. + Ensures all medical incidents are reviewed by Center Medical Director. + Reviews and posts SPE/4-month lab work test results and performs donor suitability evaluation. + Notifies donors of positive viral marker testing results (i.e., Hep-B, Hep-C, HIV, Syphilis, etc.). + Participates in plasma collection center's safety committee, as needed. + Educates staff on donor suitability and medical-related questions. + Manages employee Hepatitis B Vaccine administration and other specialty immunization programs. **General** Must be able to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the **KEDPLASMA** **Employee** **Handbook** , including, but not limited to: + Work in a safety-conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. + Comply with company Global Code of Conduct and company's policies and procedures and all the applicable regulations. + Maintain a dependable attendance record and adhere to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code. + Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and meeting(s) in a timely manner as instructed by supervisor/manager. + Cooperate with department personnel, as well as other center staff to ensure services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the donors. + Meet with supervisor/manager on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services. + Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner as instructed by supervisor/manager. + Adhere to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks. + Promote KEDRION Values: Together as One; EMT-B Training (Rookie School) MEMS offers college level training at our headquarters in downtown Little Rock. MEMS EMT-B training, otherwise known as Rookie School, is usually held 3 times each year. OUR NEXT PROGRAM BEGINS APRIL 21, 2025! COMPLETE AN APPLICATION TODAY! To be considered for MEMS EMT Rookie School, you must meet these requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Arkansas driver's license and acceptable driving record. Minimum age of 19. Must be physically fit and able to pass a physical examination. Must have acceptable scores on the college placement Accuplacer exam, which is offered onsite at MEMS at no cost. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must pass a criminal background check. Suitable and qualified candidates are selected for Rookie School and are paid an hourly rate of $11.00 per hour while attending our 9-week, full-time in-house EMT training. After successfully completing the program and obtaining an Arkansas license and National Registry certification, full-time employment continues with field training. Once complete, graduates are eligible to bid for a full-time shift and be a part of an ambulance crew. Licensed EMTs with no experience receive a starting base annual salary of $32,000 and full benefits (Hourly rate is calculated based on shifts assigned). After 1 year of service, base pay increases to $34,340.
