Brazos County ESD No. 2 January 2024 Location: Bryan, Texas Part-Time Apparatus Operator / EMT-Paramedic $18.50/hour with TCDRS Retirement (7% employee contribution) Introduction: Brazos County ESD 2 is located northeast of Bryan covering 150 square miles of subdivisions, ranch-style residential and commercial/light industrial properties. The department is comprised of a full-time paid fire chief, 12 part-time personnel, and 25 volunteers operating two stations with a third station in the planning stage. Automatic and mutual aid agreements are in place as a part of the county-wide response system. The department provides Advance Life Support medical response services with transport services provided by two municipal fire-based departments. We are experiencing growth and anticipate changes in staffing levels in the future. Responsibilities: Perform a wide variety of technical tasks and functions in support of fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical services, rescue, and hazardous material operations. The Part-Time Apparatus Operator will be assigned to work nine (9) hour on-duty shifts based on availability. Brazos County ESD No. 2 January 2024 Location: Bryan, Texas Part-Time Apparatus Operator / EMT-Basic $16.50/hour with TCDRS Retirement (7% employee contribution) Introduction: Brazos County ESD 2 is located northeast of Bryan covering 150 square miles of subdivisions, ranch-style residential and commercial/light industrial properties. The department is comprised of a full-time paid fire chief, 12 part-time personnel, and 25 volunteers operating two stations with a third station in the planning stage. Automatic and mutual aid agreements are in place as a part of the county-wide response system. The department provides Advance Life Support medical response services with transport services provided by two municipal fire-based departments. We are experiencing growth and anticipate changes in staffing levels in the future. Maintains and improves skill level and knowledge base: attends/participates in 75% of annual departmental training and completion of annual Skills Competency Fair. 4. Lifting and moving patients: ensure proper lifting, moving patients safely and effectively. Assist with movement of patients to and from stretcher and wheelchair. 5. Transport and Transfer of Care: verifies patient identification prior to transport, contacts receiving facility prior to delivery along with providing a patient care report, also providing safe delivery to or from the hospital and aircraft. Transfer the patient to the appropriate facility and health care provider giving complete/accurate verbal patient care report. 6. Record keeping and data collection: neatly and accurately completes written and electrical Patient Care Reports (ePCR). 7. Patient Advocacy: assist patient with special concerns that will need to be brought to hospital personnel's attention (i.e. geriatric patient who may require additional home care). 8. Completes daily equipment checks and maintenance: assures equipment readiness, including cleaning as needed or required, along with proficiency in equipment operation safely, repairs within scope of abilities, and reports deficiencies when noticed to supervisor and relief crew. 1.
