SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include:

Intellectual Property/Permissions: Evaluates and manages requests from various areas within AAFP to use materials from other copyright/trademark owners, including researching ownership, negotiating fees and uses, preparing related correspondence, and documenting permissions. Provides training, feedback, and reporting to internal requesters.
Intellectual Property/Copyrights and Trademarks: Coordinates and prepares submission of applications for copyright registrations. Maintains files for copyright releases, certificates, invoices and author statements. Manages service providers and designated agents for AAFP websites. Performs trademark research and provides advice and support with respect to preparation and filing of trademark applications and renewals.
