Responsibilities:
Assisting with all phases of estate and trust administration.
Prepare pleadings to file with the court to initiate an estate proceeding and for ongoing estate administration.
Monitor and maintain the estate administration and trust administration.
Monitor the estate and trust accounts, including the payment of monthly expenses for an estate or trust.
Prepare federal gift tax returns and moderate to complex income tax returns of individuals, estates, trusts and, to a more limited extent, corporations, and partnerships. Assist others with the preparation of federal and New York State estate tax returns.
Gather information regarding the assets and debts of an estate and/or trust.
Marshalling and transfer of assets.
Gather information needed for preparation of tax returns required for an estate and trust administration and initial preparation of related tax returns.
Preparation of estate/trust accountings.
eFiling of documents in various counties.
Obtains work assignments from attorneys in their office or assigned department.
Conducts investigations, prepares correspondence or documents for attorneys review.
Contacts court administration and regulatory bodies as needed to fulfill job assignment.
Maintains annual billable hours as set by the Firm.
Performs other duties, projects and assignments as needed to support the Firm.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.
2+ years of trust and estate related experience, including a background in trusts and estates and probate, with a law firm or in-house legal department (Required).
Experience with tax and estate administration software programs, preferred.
Must be an independent, proactive, organized, and diligent worker and able to work with minimal direction.
Must be able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
Must be able to create positive working relationships and effectively communicate with all parties in the transaction.
Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills.
Must be able to multi-task, be detailed oriented and be able to prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities.
Experience with tax and estate administration software programs a plus.
Must have strong Microsoft Excel experience and skill.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to our attorneys throughout all stages of legal actions, from initiation to resolution. While the role may involve some administrative duties, you will be working alongside an administrative support team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in case management.
Pre-Litigation Phase
· Gather necessary documentation to support case development.
· Draft and issue litigation hold letters to preserve evidence.
· Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
Pleading and Pretrial Phase
· Assist in drafting and preparing pleadings, including complaints, answers, counterclaims, and third-party complaints.
· File documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and deadlines.
· Conduct background investigations and gather public records to support the development of claims or defenses.
· Facilitate service of process on parties and non-parties.
Discovery Phase
· Manage the collection, organization, and review of documents for discovery purposes.
· Assist in preparing and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
· Organize and review electronically stored information (ESI) using document management software.
· Prepare deposition summaries and assist attorneys in deposition preparation.
Pretrial Phase
