RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS + CORE COMPETENCIES
A minimum of 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation, handling case management, drafting legal documents, coordinating discovery, and assisting with trial preparation.
At least 3 years of experience managing a team of legal professionals.
Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, provide mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
A paralegal certificate is required, an advanced degree or additional legal coursework is a plus.
Up-to-date with current litigation practices Minnesota and/or Wisconsin rules of civil procedure, technology, and procedural requirements. Experience in bankruptcy law and appeals is a plus.
Recent experience working in a legal setting, with minimal gaps in employment.
Strong ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, track deadlines, and ensure that all litigation-related tasks are completed efficiently. Must be detail-oriented and capable of handling high-volume workloads with accuracy.
Strong proficiency in case management software, e-discovery platforms, and legal research tools (such as Relativity, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or Clio)
Experience with document automation software and workflow optimization tools to improve efficiency in legal drafting, contract management, and court filings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents, correspond with clients and opposing counsel, and effectively communicate legal procedures to both attorneys and non-legal professionals.
Demonstrated ability to assess current legal processes and implement efficiency improvements, particularly through the integration of technology.
Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements, ethical obligations, and compliance standards within a legal setting. Must ensure that the litigation department adheres to best practices in data security, client confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

Summary of Position (hybrid):
Assists in the preparation and filing of design patent, and utility patent applications in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains patent files: open files, prepares formal documents for filing, including, abstracts, drawings and preliminary amendments.
Reviews all incoming correspondence from foreign associates for essential docketing and for non-substantive responses due in connection with filing of applications.
Maintains and updates docket with respect to new filings.
Maintains docket of due dates for patent applications and is responsible for monitoring, resolving, and clearing those dates.
Assists attorney in on-going procedural aspects of prosecution.
As appropriate, prepares estimates of filing and prosecution costs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience as a paralegal supporting attorneys in litigation.
Extensive experience analyzing and summarizing medical records.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with document management systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
