Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Under pharmacist supervision, processes active patient prescriptions. Assists pharmacists in coordinating/scheduling preparation of sterile admixtures. Prepares and generates batch for preparation of sterile admixtures. Organizes assigned workload to facilitate its accomplishment. Prepares/compounds sterile admixtures, including but not limited to parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, chemotherapy, hydration, narcotic analgesics, using aseptic techniques and under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Completes batch records and other pharmacy records as indicated. Verifies completed batch records against the computer record. Prepares labels for sterile admixture and places with the respective batch record. Generates labels and picks and packages prepackaged and unit dose drugs in accordance with the dispensing order (picklist) and under the supervision of a pharmacist. Performs and records various quality control activities including air sampling, bacterial counts, and Steri-Testing. Reports all "positive" results to the pharmacy supervisor immediately. Ensures the clean room suites and related equipment are cleaned and maintained per organizational policy and procedure. Prepares and submits dosage and stabilities reports for sterile products Participates with the pharmacist and materials management coordinator in monitoring/maintaining drug inventories and preparing orders for drugs and related supplies. Consistently represents the company in a professional manner. Maintain effective working relationship and cooperate with all personnel in the Company. Adheres to the Company's compliance requirements as stated in the policy and procedure manual and all other related policies. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
