Daily preparation and cleaning of the jobsite to ensure safe productive day to produce a quality paint job. Erects and removes ladders and lifts as necessary.
Evaluate condition of the surface to be covered and select a surface preparation technique and material consistent with the type and condition of surface, coating material applied, exposure and expected condition of use.
Clean and prepare surfaces to be painted by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, brushes, sanding machines, sandblasters, washing and dusting. Fills nail holes, joints, and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.
Prepare surfaces by applying various coatings such as primers, paints, epoxies, urethane, stains, and sealers for finish coats.
Coordinate with departments and locations when preparing for a painting job.
Organize and maintain all paints and materials related to painting.
Use paper or tape guns.
Create color samples to determine proper matching of colors and mix and thin paint per paint codes.
Determines methods of application and applies paint or other coatings with brush, roller or spray gun to the exterior and interior of buildings, to furniture, to signs, to structural steel, and/or to equipment.
Finish surfaces using sandpaper, pumice, wax and other materials.
