Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Incorporate and uphold The Ulven Companies core values and policies
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
Apply various types of coatings (e.g., paint, primer, sealant) using spray guns, brushes, or rollers to protect metal components from corrosion and enhance their appearance.
Inspect surfaces for proper coating coverage, adhesion, and finish quality to meet customer and industry standards and specifications.
Mix paints and coatings to the correct consistency and color according to job requirements/product specifications.
Clean and maintain painting equipment.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and others from hazards associated with painting materials and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of coating materials used, work performed, and quality control checks for documentation and traceability purposes.
Coordinate with other team members, such as machinists and quality control inspectors, to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.
Identify and resolve issues related to coating applications, such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage, to achieve desired outcomes.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovative technologies related to industrial painting to enhance skills and knowledge.
Attentive to detail and maintain quality standards while working efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
2+ years of painting/coatings experience in the forging and machining industry, preferred.
Understand surface preparation techniques, coating application methods, and paint mixing procedures.
Know safety protocols related to handling painting materials and operating painting equipment.
Proficient in using painting tools and equipment, such as spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
Interpret and follow job specifications, blueprints, and instructions for coating application.
Have basic math skills for measuring and mixing paint ingredients accurately.
Demonstrate physical dexterity and stamina to perform tasks that may require standing, bending, and lifting.
Possess effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow safety guidelines effectively.
