Prepares surfaces for painting, which includes repairing holes and cracks, sealing stains, and sanding surfaces for interior jobs or removing loose paint, scuff sanding areas, and caulking gaps and cracks to prevent water intrusion for interior and exterior jobs.
Cleans up daily and after the job is complete, which includes moving all items back to desired locations and sweeping/vacuuming floors, carpets, and grounds for interior and exterior jobs, by removing paint chips or other debris for exterior and interior jobs, and removing all job materials as required.
Inspects work to ensure that the job is 100% complete at the highest quality before reviewing the project with the customer to ensure their satisfaction.
Understands and executes work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Maintains strict attention to detail when working at customers' properties.
Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies by always respecting the clients and the clients' property.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Ensures that required documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate mechanical equipment, including forklifts, cranes, pneumatic and electric winches, and manlifts.
Follow detailed work instructions and quality work instructions (QWI) with accuracy and consistency.
Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Utilize precision instruments and gauges for accurate measurements.
Execute daily inspections and preventative maintenance on all blast and paint equipment.
Power wash and clean railcars and locomotives, prepping them for painting.
Conduct sandblasting and surface preparation to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Mix and prepare various types of paints and coatings, applying them according to customer specifications using pressure spray systems.
Perform bodywork, touch-ups, and repairs as necessary.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in procurement of materials.
Qualifications:
Skill Level I: 0-1 years of experience without technical education.
Skill Level II: 1-2 years of experience or relevant technical certifications.
Skill Level III: 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment and complying with safety protocols.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in railcar or locomotive painting.
Technical degree in auto body or related paint programs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push and pull up to 150 lbs.
Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and climbing.
Comfortable working in high-noise, high-dust environments, and confined spaces.
Must adhere to all safety protocols while working in and around active tracks and equipment.

Prepares surfaces for painting, which includes repairing holes and cracks, sealing stains, and sanding surfaces for interior jobs or removing loose paint, scuff sanding areas, and caulking gaps to prevent water intrusion for exterior jobs
Paints surfaces by first priming repaired areas and then applying premium quality paint to a uniform finish
Cleans up daily and after job is complete, which includes moving all items back to desired locations and sweeping/vacuuming floors and carpets for interior jobs, removing paint chips or other debris for exterior jobs, and removing all job materials
Inspects work for the highest quality
Understands and executes work orders in a timely and professional manner
Maintains strict attention to detail when working at customer’s property
Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
