Job Overview
The Maintenance Carpenter/Painter is responsible for maintaining building interior walls, flooring, ceiling, all entry doors, fitting room hardware, fixture drawers, and hinges as well as journey-level work in the painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces, structures, and fixtures. Candidate will be required to perform duties in more than one facility.
Essential Functions
Carpenter Essential Functions:
Install, maintain, and repair: walls, flooring, ceilings, fixtures, doors, hardware, and repair laminate
Perform repair and preventative maintenance as required on building interior
Regular use of power tools and handling and lifting of heavy and/or bulky items.
Utilize Work Order System for assignment of repair work orders as well as preventative maintenance actions
Ensure systems remain in compliance with local codes
Must possess a valid Drivers License.
Ability to intermittently travel out of town and between different store locations.
Ability to work safely around customers and employees.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Ability to work without direct daily direct supervision.
Perform these functions in an efficient manner, as directed by the People Leader

Assist with all aspects of maintenance and repair within assigned facilities including on call availability
Painter Essential Functions:
Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints interior/exterior surfaces, furniture, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, and latex. Adjust colors as needed.
Applies tape and joint compound to repair sheetrock walls and ceilings.
Removes graffiti using a variety of available products.
Installs and repairs wall coverings.
Operates, cleans, and maintains all painting equipment, including brushes, rolls, sprayers, and pumps.
Purchases and inventories equipment and supplies.
Estimates time and materials required.
Erects scaffolding and uses ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes.
Safely stores and labels all materials.
Adheres to state and local disposal requirements as it relates to hazardous materials handling.
Responds to routine and emergency calls for service and maintains a record of work completed in the work order system.
Perform these functions in an efficient manner, as directed by the People Leader.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare and paint surfaces of building structure, furniture and equipment using proper application techniques and various products. Possess visual ability to identify colors and patterns, measure lengths and quantities and assess areas for repair. Knowledge in plaster or spackle applications, mixing paint colors to match existing colors, and applying paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and spray guns is required. The ability to climb ladders and scaffolds or use a high lift to reach heights up to 30 feet is necessary. Work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extended periods of time is required. Use of hand tools related to the paint trade and the ability to push and/or pull items up to 150lbs. with wheeled assistance is required.
Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facility. Knowledge of vinyl, paper, fabric, and foil wall covering of various weights is required.
Maintain and repair caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facility. Requires knowledge in caulking, grouting, plastering, tile setting, cinder block/brick and cement work.
Prepare and maintain wood surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering. Apply alcohol or water based stains and develops a finished product from unstained or existing finished wood.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
Performs other duties as required, ie. special orders, buffet presentation, VIP parties, writing specialty menus for promotions, etc.
Supervises daily cleaning, inventorying of walk-in and reach-in boxes.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor the incumbent functions as a working leader to coordinate the tasks, activities, supplies and equipment of the painters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
* Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
* Prepares and applies paint and related coatings and wall coverings to interior and exterior surfaces of on and off-site locations.
* Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or plastic to create special effects; simulates wood grain, marble, brick tile or other specialty effects.
* Smoothens surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces for painting; prepares surfaces as appropriate and cost effective; fills voids with putty type filler; removes and replaces wall fixtures.
* Selects premixed paints, color matches or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
* Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
* Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in good, clean, operating order.
