Job Overview The Carpenter / Painter maintains building interior walls, flooring, ceilings, entry doors, fitting room hardware, fixture drawers, and hinges. Painter Essential Functions: Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint interior and exterior surfaces, furniture, and fixtures using various painting materials, including varnish, lacquer, and latex. Adjust colors as needed. Apply tape and joint compound to repair sheetrock walls and ceilings. Remove graffiti using appropriate products. Install and repair wall coverings. Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and pumps. Purchase and inventory equipment and supplies. Estimate time and materials required for projects. Erect scaffolding and use ladders safely in compliance with safety codes. Store and label materials safely. Adhere to state and local disposal requirements for hazardous materials. Respond to routine and emergency service calls, documenting completed work in the work order system. Complete tasks efficiently as directed by the People Leader. Responsible for ensuring safe and effective sanding painting and staining of each cabinet part. Will work within a team, as well as individually, to make sure that all cabinets are finished to the highest quality standards set by the company. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
