What is a packer/shipper and how to become one

The packer/shipper is in charge of accurately packaging and shipping finished goods to customers based on their specifications. He/She studies and follows company packing and shipping procedures and standards and prepares items for shipping by weighing, labeling, and packing them into shipping containers.

Additionally, he/she compares paperwork, tags, and other identifying information to packaged goods. Also, he/she tallies the goods to know the quantity on labels, cartons, paperwork, or tags. Asides from that, he/she checks goods for damage and reports any shortages or damaged goods.

A high school qualification or its equivalent is the basic education required for this position. Candidates must have a minimum of a year of related work experience. You must possess organization, attention to detail, teamwork, and computer skills. You must be able to lift over thirty pounds and knows how to operate a forklift.
