Those duties may include case packing, carton packing, inspecting, check weighing, labeling, box making, palletizing, and reworking product. The tasks will entail the use of standard packing machinery and procedures to pack and box various finished goods in cartons, bags, or containers. Packing finished goods containers (bags, cartons, boxes, etc.) into finished cases. Inspecting finished product, as well as primary, and secondary packaging for defects (broken, doubles, count, poor seals, code dates, etc.) and Packing primary packages (bags, cartons, etc.) into finished Master Cases. Ensuring that all finished product meets, or exceeds, High Liner Foods (HLF) quality standards. Having a thorough understanding of HLF quality standards, 1 st Pass Product quality and characteristics, and ability to sort out product which does not meet HLF standards. Reporting any condition which does not meet HLF standards. Working in a manner that enables HLF to produce the highest quality, safest, most cost efficient products possible. Knowing, understanding, and complying with all HLF Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP's), Food Safety regulations and practices, and HLF Safety Rules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To wrap all the outbound orders in the designated loading zones in compliance with company procedures and standards. This ensures the drivers have the product safely stowed and organized for maximum efficiency for the day's deliveries. Ensure all pallets are built according to preferred methods and wrapped from the bottom of the pallet to the top cases on each pallet to avoid damage during transport. Notify a supervisor of any issues. Ensure work is completed in a productive and timely manner. Keep pallets in work area wrapped according to dispatch times and on pace to avoid any hindrance in loader productivity. Verify header labels are in upper right hand corner for the loader to easily locate. Ensure work area is free of debris at all times. Help loaders by Unloading trailers staged in doors that contain pallets, blankets, straps and any debris left in the trailer. Raise door, lock trailer to dock & lower dock plate. Work in extreme temperatures of 100 + degrees and below freezing Ensure the Robo wrappers are clean and in good operational condition at all times. Do not allow excess shrink wrap to build up around guide wheel. Do not cut shrink wrap from rollers using a box cutter. Do not place stickers on any part of the equipment. Wipe down the equipment an end of shift each day. Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area. Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Related Experience: A minimum of one-year warehouse experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to operate a pallet jack; Good attention to detail; Ability to read batch labels; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must be team oriented and able to get along with others Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The Picking & Packing Associate is responsible for picking and/or packing orders, label printing, inspecting products for orders, and utilizing specific equipment to pick, pack, and kit products in preparation for shipping and receiving demands to meet customer needs. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Saco, Maine. Details: Schedule: 7:00 Am to 5:45 - Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday OR Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday The ability to work Sunday is required at this time. Pay Rate: $18/Hr. $1.50/Hr. Shift Differential for Overnight Shift Duties & Responsibilities: Pick orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded.
