Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner. Operate and inspect technology including walkie talkies and powered or manual pallet jacks. Complete RF scanning, consolidation, and documentation. Separate merchandise to different store groups or designated areas. Accurately label and date merchandise with identification number, packing slip information, and category number. Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards. Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and OSHA s EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to satisfactorily complete the Powered Equipment Training Program and attainment of license. Ability to satisfactorily complete the Splitting Area Training Program and pass the Splitting Area proficiency test. Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and achieve any applicable license. Excellent attention to detail and ability to comply with established standards is required. English speaking, reading, and comprehension skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Ability to learn to use a RF scanner and a wrapping machine. Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, and attendance standards. The purpose of this position is to operate scales and package sealing equipment and palletize finished cases in accordance with customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales. * Place cartons and lids onto conveyor belts while keeping pace with the machinery. * Ensure labeling and date code correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift. * Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications. * Manually package sealed cartons into corrugated cases. * Maintain a flow of corrugated cases to the next stage in the packaging process. * Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets. * Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely. * Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist Maintenance in identifying problems. * Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product * Rotate to different positions during the shift. * Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. * Manage time efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality products. * Sanitation & cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day. * Enter RedZone data and attend daily huddles. * Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
