Receive items by off-loading inbound inventory; unpacking containers
Check and verify inbound inventory by inspecting condition of items; comparing count of items to purchase order documents and packing lists; noting discrepancies.

1st and 2nd shifts start at $10/hour and increase to $10.50/hour after 30 days.
3rd shift pays $10.50/hour.

The purpose of this position is to operate scales and package sealing equipment and palletize finished cases in accordance with customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales.
* Place cartons and lids onto conveyor belts while keeping pace with the machinery.
* Ensure labeling and date code correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift.
* Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications.
* Manually package sealed cartons into corrugated cases.
* Maintain a flow of corrugated cases to the next stage in the packaging process.
* Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets.
* Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely.
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist Maintenance in identifying problems.
* Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product
* Rotate to different positions during the shift.
* Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed.
* Manage time efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality products.

Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* Ability to work in refrigerated environments for 8+ hour work periods.
* Ability to perform a monotonous task with efficiency over 8+ hour work periods without losing quality.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
* 1+ year working in fast paced environment.
* Prior Agriculture or greenhouse experience is highly desirable.
* Must work well in a group and independently; demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
* Must be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, and technique.
* Ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences, especially with the direct supervisors and co-workers.
* Ability to follow basic instructions and take constructive criticism from their managers maintaining quality standards and production goals.
