Obtain and/or make up containers, clean, label, fill, seal, palletize, and stretch-wrap according to established procedures. Complete all necessary paperwork. Shovel snow from building entrances, roofs, from around railroad switches and firehouses. Clean plant areas as instructed by supervision. Assist Crew Leaders, Lead Operators, Operators, Contract Formulators, Site Support Services and Material Handlers in the startup and shutdown of production operations and report any problems and downtime to supervisor. Packers work inside and outside the plant Production, Stores and Warehouse buildings. Other work locations include railcars and trailer trucks and their respective loading and unloading stations. Packers will sometimes be required to climb ladders and stairs and perform work in and on elevated areas such as roofs and dust collectors.
