Beginning pay of $17.60 up to $21.01 per hour with a $1.25 night shift add on and quarterly increases. Packout Team Member The Packout Team Member plays a key role in the accurate and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. Responsibilities include picking and packing inventory based on order specifications, maintaining stock levels, loading and unloading delivery trucks, and performing additional tasks as assigned. The purpose of this position is to operate scales and package sealing equipment and palletize finished cases in accordance with customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales. Place cartons and lids onto conveyor belts while keeping pace with the machinery. Ensure labeling and date code correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift. Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications. Manually package sealed cartons into corrugated cases. Maintain a flow of corrugated cases to the next stage in the packaging process. Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets. Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist Maintenance in identifying problems. Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product Rotate to different positions during the shift. Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. Manage time efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality products. Sanitation & cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day. Enter RedZone data and attend daily huddles. The Shipper / Packer provides technical guidance to employees on the interpretation, application and modification of preservation, packaging and packing matters, to include processing criteria, procedures and techniques. Second Shift : 1530 to Midnight, Monday to Friday. Primary Responsibilities: * Resolves complex problems connected with preservation, packaging, and marking methods. * Blocks and braces a wide variety of military equipment and supplies. * Studies and analyzes the preservation, packaging, and packing program to assure program effectiveness. * Implement changes in packaging methods, requirement and procedures. * Establishes packaging standard operating procedures for the employees to follow. * Ensures that employees are provided updates and changes to packaging regulations to include hazardous packaging requirements. * Reviews packaging discrepancies and recommend ds appropriate corrective actions. * Recommends methods of preservation when guidance is not readily available from data systems. * Researches technical, performance, environmental and cost data on packing materials. * Read specifications and photographs as/if required in DLA contract. * Formal training of technical/certifiable aspects of packing and shipping hazardous material is required every two years. * Utilizes management policy, principles and practices in order to apply, interpret and implement packaging guidelines. * Knowledge of automated systems (e.g. DSS, HMIRS, FEDLOG, FLOS, JHCS, etc.). * Applies conventional fact-finding, analytical and problem solving methods and techniques to identify packing problems. * Analyze diverse and often vague data to determine trends, solve problems and recommend a course of action. * Keep abreast of and evaluate new developments pertaining to areas of responsibility to ensure that planning, approaches, findings and decisions will result in an efficient packaging/preservation process. * Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements position Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. Your role: As Pack Operator you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the pack equipment, including flour scheduling, shipping and receiving, inventory control, maintenance and sanitation. The pack operator works with the scheduler to coordinate packing and shipping dates of scheduled orders as well as to communicate flour needs for packing. The purpose of this position is to operate scales and package sealing equipment and palletize finished cases in accordance with customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales. * Place cartons and lids onto conveyor belts while keeping pace with the machinery. * Ensure labeling and date code correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift. * Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications. * Manually package sealed cartons into corrugated cases. * Maintain a flow of corrugated cases to the next stage in the packaging process. * Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets. * Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely. * Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist Maintenance in identifying problems. * Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product * Rotate to different positions during the shift. * Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. * Manage time efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality products. * Sanitation & cleanup of all processing areas throughout the day. * Enter RedZone data and attend daily huddles. * Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. * Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. * Performs other duties as assigned.
