As a Packer you will clean and package panels, assist saw and press operators, and handle the final quality inspection of all panels that are packed.
Currently there is an opening for a Packer in our Panels division on 2nd shift (2:30p - 10:30p. Monday - Friday)

Panels Packer: Starting at $21.90 per hour on 2nd Shift!
Key Responsibilities:
Verify correct quality, color, and size of product
Clean product to be packaged
Load skids and protect product
Crate finished goods
Fill out shipment info forms
Fill out and attach shipping labels
Assist press and saw operations as needed.
Complete necessary paperwork.
Fill out DMN.
Assist other departments as necessary
Read work orders and follow instructions
Frequently asks production area if they need help.
Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery.
Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods.
Handle internal and external questions in a prompt professional manner.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Continually looks for ways to improve job efficiency and performance
Performs all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Inspects filled containers to ensure the product is packaged according to specifications including: box and bag, count, and standard quality conformance.
Applies and assists in printing and applying labels to boxes or product according to job packet.
Stacks boxed on pallets by hand if time permits.
Meets or exceeds determined hourly production rates/ratios on at least one type of thermoforming machine.
Uses scale to determine correct count and relays weight and count to the Operator or Runner for logging in the system.
Cleans machines and area during downtime
Assists in line clearance when the machine goes down or during product changeovers
Post ballots/batches into AX using RFS
Logs into and out of jobs to ensure accurate reporting of labor for each job.
Wraps skids and/or pulls scrap as needed to cover for Utility.
Discards plastic scrap and trash in appropriate bins/gondolas to avoid cross-contamination
Complies with Display Pack safety policies and procedures and reports safety hazards/violations to the supervisor.

This position will be based out of our Kar's Nuts Products facility located at 1200 East 14 Mile in Madison Heights, Michigan.
As a Packer production team member, you will pack our famous products in various packaging. To be successful, you must have the ability to stay at pace with the line and perform repetitive tasks.
Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 3pm -11p, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate 14.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift premium.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Pack our famous products in various packaging
Ensure code date is properly placed and legible
Check for any compromises to packaging
Ensure each box have correct number of packaging
Maintain clean and safe work area
Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies
Maintain clean and safe work area
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma/GED;
English language proficient
Must have a positive attitude
Ability to work well with peers and supervisors;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery
Previous Manufacuring experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements
Standing for 8-10 hours;
Walking up and down stairs;

Working in slightly elevated temperatures;
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high and employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment. This is an indoor food manufacturing setting.
