Job Summary:
The National Ability Center (NAC) is seeking a shuttle driver to transport campers of varying physical, developmental, intellectual, and cognitive abilities and ages from Salt Lake City to the NAC Ranch and back four and a half days a week. This is a part-time seasonal position from May to August and it is not eligible for remote work.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for driving campers to and from the NAC Ranch four and a half days a week.
Operates a fleet of National Ability Center vehicles (15-passenger buses with wheel-chair lift systems).
Conducts inspections of vehicles before departing to ensure that it is safe for transporting individuals.
Helps participants get in and out vehicles safely and utilizes appropriate safety equipment.
Utilizes appropriate routes to be most efficient with transportation time.
Maintains ongoing communication with program supervisor and manager.
Delivers participants to proper locations safely and on time.
Works and communicates effectively with parents/guardians, camp counselors, campers, and program supervisor/manager daily.
Assists with overseeing proper usage of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Assists with preparing/cleaning site, equipment, and vehicles for activities.
Attends and engages in all required training sessions.
Assists with key fundraising events and other special events as needed to help advance program goals and support; serve as an ambassador and representative for the National Ability Center.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
21 years or older.
Valid Driver's License.
Be able to pass a background check.
Pass a pre-employment drug test.
Maintain a Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) physical and gain approval for driving the National Ability Center's fleet of accessible vehicles (15-passenger buses with wheelchair lift systems).
Clean driving record.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or the ability to attain.
Availability for full camp season including required pre-season training (May - August).*
*Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Camp Manager and must be agreed upon prior to start of employment.

Ability to speak Spanish and/or use American Sign Language (ASL).
