Main Responsibilities:

Experience with GXP learning processes in Pharma is required

Role Summary:
Dyne is seeking a talented and highly motivated Co-Op to support our Platform analytics team. The Co-Op will support the characterization of protein and protein/oligonucleotide conjugates used in the treatment of rare diseases, interpret and analyze data.
The Platform Development team cultivates an environment of versatility and transparency, therefore excellent communication skills are required. The Co-Op will additionally learn public speaking skills, present and contribute during department-wide data meetings, and many other operational aspects of early drug discovery at Dyne.
This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote. This is a 6-month position beginning in July.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Characterize proteins and protein-oligonucleotide conjugates using diverse techniques such as size exclusion chromatography, protein quantitation, SDS-PAGE, biophysical techniques (DLS, DSF, SPR), and mass spectrometry
Build foundational knowledge in biologics discovery and characterization
Efficiently evaluate relevant literature and bring new ideas to optimize existing methodologies and protocols
Learn key theoretical and practical aspects of analytical chemistry used for drug discovery in pre-clinical development
Participate in routine meetings with your mentor to discuss experimental design, data review, and evaluate key findings
Review Co-op objectives in a final presentation at the conclusion of the Co-op experience
Education and Skills Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other related fields
Prior lab experience highly preferred
Background/coursework in chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry required
Knowledge of software applications
Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members

Position Overview
Sublime is seeking an Analytical Co-op to support physical and chemical characterization of our cement and process materials. The co-op will support the analytical team in executing, improving upon, and maintaining procedures that enable reliable characterization measurements. The co-op will also contribute to commissioning, maintenance, and calibration of Sublime's analytical instruments. This role is expected to be hands-on, with a significant amount of time spent in lab collecting data. Successful candidates will be results-driven, ambitious, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Responsibilities for this role will include:
Executing standard test methods to prepare samples for measurement, analyze materials, and record the results, ensuring rapid turnaround and high-quality data.
Commissioning, calibrating, and maintaining Sublime's analytical instruments including ICP-OES, XRF, XRD, TGA, BET, auto-titrators, and laser diffractometers under the guidance of the Analytical Manager.
Contributing to the organization and upkeep of our shared lab space.
Identifying process improvements to make our team's work more accurate and efficient.
Working with a team of other scientists, engineers, and technicians to accomplish shared goals.
Championing safety, especially in the development of experimental processes.
Fostering a supportive, inclusive, innovative, and dynamic company culture.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in chemistry, geology, forensic science, engineering, or other physical science
Experience with pipettes and balances
Wet lab experience, interest in industrial QA/QC settings and analytical chemistry. Familiarity with techniques such as ICP, XRF, BET, XRD, TGA, Laser Diffraction is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to track and accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to master existing analytical tools and protocols while proactively seeking out new methods to improve upon them.
Ability to make keen observations on process anomalies, recommend process improvements, and articulate findings.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
