    VA Western New York Healthcare System currently is in need of 2 Board Certified General Oncology Physicians. Services shall be provided at the Government Facility site: Buffalo VAMC 3495 Bailey Ave, Buffalo NY 14215 (Primary site); Batavia VAMC 222 Richmond Ave, Batavia NY, 14020; Olean CBOC 465 North Union Street, Olean NY 14760. Duties Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. The physician will evaluate, triage and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient oncology consultations. The physician will obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. The physician will coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. The Physician will perform administrative tasks as assigned such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations. The physician will provide oncology on-call services as assigned. Oncologist Requirements: License: Must have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contractor's physician(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract. Board Certification: Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. Must have current DEA certificate. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
