Title: Sr Configuration Management Process Architect:
.
ServiceNow is a configuration management tool, platform tool within the company. These roles are usually on the corporate side, but they are a large segment within the client organization, and they have Configuration Managers, and the manager in this group manages a couple of folks on his team who partner very closely with the Platform Team in Corporate in the Enterprise Technology Space. They actually own the ServiceNow tool, and then they are the biggest consumer of that platform. All the processes that have to do with the configuration management database, with the flavor of ServiceNow. So, his team integrates with the client Organization and all of the business applications within the company are tracked within their configuration management database tool.
They have about 450 Product Owners, and all the executives they have relationships with, they deal with them on a weekly basis to keep that database data as pristine as possible. All those applications are documented within the tool, and that feeds the metrics that a second team then provides to executives for availability and risk management, and data collaboration. All those types of tools get their information from ServiceNow. So, it's this team's responsibility to ensure that their data is as pristine as possible. They are reaching a point where the manager needs additional help. He has a person on his team who needs to be focusing more on strategy, and so he will be moving her into that space, and this person he is looking to fill in this position is a process architect within the configuration management database tool.
The tool is unique. He would like someone to come in there and hit the ground running that's very familiar with ServiceNow, with all the modules within the tool, being able to understand the entire tool itself. All the assets, the attributes, the tool make up. What he is really looking for is an architect that has familiarity with ServiceNow. This is also a role that is not only within the tool itself, but they have about 450 product owners across the DS organization that they deal with on a weekly basis, and all the executives as well. So, this is a highly collaborative role, because they are also interfacing on the enterprise technology side with their partners there on all of the processes within the tools.
A lot of what corporate does is model things and processes and suggestions after what his team provides to them. Must work well with others, work well with executives, has some background working on highly motivated teams, and has that experience working on a team that is working with a lot of people within the organization. This person would also ensure that all their processes and applications are ready to move to the new platform (Xanadu version of ServiceNow).
Working with Product Owners to make sure the APIs they have written to work within the tool are tested. This person won't be doing actual testing, more the liaison between the customer base within DX and the Corporate Dept. to make sure they are ready for upgrades, to ensure they are doing their data certifications, to make sure all the data within the tool is as accurate as possible.
Exposure to Xanadu version of ServiceNow is a plus, but not required.
The manager would like to see someone with experience in an enterprise environment, with experience supporting a significant amount of applications that are being supported within ServiceNow. They have about 4400 applications they support in DX within the tool itself.
Conference calls with customers in Paris and Shanghai infrequently, but they are supporting their DX customers within Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Paris. So, it is a tool that spans the company, and their DX organization is pretty big in what they support.
Panel Interview: The manager, his subject matter expert, and another manager or two - One and done!
Onsite up to 4 days per week in office, however, presently they are in office 2 days per week.
