OHSU Dermatology is located in the Center for Health & Healing on the South Waterfront in Portland, Oregon. The Department of Dermatology is dedicated to providing our patients the best and most innovative dermatologic care for the broad range of skin, hair, nail and mucous membrane disorders. Function/Duties of Position Teaching trainees, medical students and support staff in accordance with assignments by the Chair. Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees and guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility. Appointee shall establish and maintain a program of scholarly activities directed toward improving understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of diseases. The appointee shall have a demonstrated competence in teaching. This position also contributes to the administration of the department as assigned by the Chair; specifically, by helping select residents and participating in administrative committees and councils of OHSU as approved by the Chair. Providing an outstanding level of professional performance (e.g. quality of investigation for research faculty; quality of clinical care for clinical faculty; quality of administrative function in education office). Professional performance is to be delivered in a manner that is compliant with the OHSU Code of Conduct. Appointee shall treat all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect. Maintaining a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. May develop and direct scholarly research activities focused toward improving the educational foundation within dermatology. May engage in public service through consultative activities with OHSU and non-University groups as approved by the Chair. May also participate in additional departmental or hospital administration as approved by the Chair. (Optional) Appointee shall have a demonstrated competence in research, teaching, patient care, administration or combinations of these activities. The potential for academic accomplishment should be evident. Required Qualifications Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree and Board certification/eligibility in Dermatology as well as experience in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with cutaneous diseases. Research interests may be clinical or basic science. Depending on the qualifications of the person selected, the position may be filled as an Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary shall be commensurate with rank. Clinical and academic bonuses are available based upon productivity.     OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center is seeking a clinician-educator to support the Internal Medicine residency program and provide exceptional patient care, and further the educational mission. This position is a full-time academic position in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at OHSU School of Medicine. Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued. The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship, as directed by his or her department. Compensation for this position for the first full year is a guaranteed salary; in subsequent years the compensation will include a base salary plus an incentive based on the success and productivity of clinical work. Function/Duties of Position This position will include continuity ambulatory practice and potentially interim care for the practice. Clinical care duties will be the equivalent of 7 half days per week. May include precepting residents in their own continuity clinics, approximately one-half day a week. Assignments may include but are not limited to courses such as TA 245 (Lighting Design), TA 147 (Intro to Theatre), TA 242 (Visual Principles of Theatre) and additional special topics courses related to technical theatre, projection, sound, and stage management. Faculty will be responsible for refining and developing new courses in the areas of technical theatre practice and design as well as courses that may be approved for OSU's Core-Ed. Teaching and mentoring of students also take the form of designing for University Theatre (UT) productions. There are typically five such productions during the academic year (three Main Stage and two student-centered Lab Theatre productions). Under the direction of the UT Artistic Director and production director, the faculty member is responsible for the design, programming, and execution of the lighting, projection, and sound/media design for departmental productions. This work will be done in collaboration with the Technical Director and PRAx technical staff as well as student workers and Theatre Arts students. The faculty member is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring student designers in the areas of lighting, projection design, and sound design for Lab Theatre productions and (when appropriate) mentoring student designers for Main Stage Productions. Job Summary The School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts ( SVPDA ) invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Lighting and Media Design and Theatre Technology position. Key Responsibilities 45%Teaching and Assigned Duties Teaching assignments will be determined by Area Coordinator and approved by the SVPDA Director. Assignments may include but are not limited to courses such as TA 245 (Lighting Design), TA 147 (Intro to Theatre), TA 242 (Visual Principles of Theatre) and additional special topics courses related to technical theatre, projection, sound, and stage management. Faculty will be responsible for refining and developing new courses in the areas of technical theatre practice and design as well as courses that may be approved for OSU's Core-Ed. Teaching and mentoring of students also take the form of designing for University Theatre (UT) productions. There are typically five such productions during the academic year (three Main Stage and two student-centered Lab Theatre productions). Under the direction of the UT Artistic Director and production director, the faculty member is responsible for the design, programming, and execution of the lighting, projection, and sound/media design for departmental productions. This work will be done in collaboration with the Technical Director and PRAx technical staff as well as student workers and Theatre Arts students. The faculty member is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring student designers in the areas of lighting, projection design, and sound design for Lab Theatre productions and (when appropriate) mentoring student designers for Main Stage Productions. The faculty member will also be available to consult with OSU Music productions when appropriate, design and/or to mentor student designers to support Music productions such as Opera Workshop. 45% Creative and Scholarly Work The faculty member will maintain a current professional portfolio in design and research in the areas of artistic expertise. Artistic output and research may include peer-reviewed conference presentations, publication of articles, and/or guest designing in professional performing arts venues at the regional, national, and/or international levels. To support both their own research and the theatre program, the faculty member is responsible for overseeing lighting and projection technology, writing, and submitting technology grants in these areas, and working with the UT Technical Director in maintaining lighting, projection, sound, and other related theatre technical equipment. Design work for OSU productions, as outlined above, will provide opportunities for research and creative output on campus, which will be expected alongside professional design work outside of OSU venues. 10% Service Service to the theatre area, the School, College of Liberal Arts, and University.
