No Position Purpose The Heating Plant provides heating steam and co-generates electricity on a 24-hour basis for all of the College's GPO and ORL buildings. The Plant Operator is responsible for the operation of the Plant's electrical generators and electrical distribution system, emergency diesel generator, and turbine auxiliaries. The Operator is also responsible for the oversight of all plant equipment and systems including the flow of steam and electric out of the Heating Plant. The position is also responsible for: responding to telephone requests for after-hours assistance from members of the College community; maintaining the station log book and communicating information to appropriate Plant and/or FO&M personnel. Seeking experienced chemical plant operators with familiarity of chemical handling, material transfer, truck loading/unloading, forklift driving, and batch manufacturing in an automated plant environment. Operates 24-5, so a willingness to work shifts, long hours and weekends (on rotation), will be expected during busy periods. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Transfer chemicals, following manufacturing procedures to produce products and intermediates in mix tanks and pressure reactors. In doing so, they must also control instruments and make sure they are working properly. When equipment is defective, they might schedule and coordinate maintenance efforts if necessary. They're also in charge of shutting down or otherwise handling equipment during an emergency. We are currently seeking self-motivated and dependable full-time Asphalt Plant / Loader Operators with a heavy emphasis on maintenance. We have openings in Dayton, Ohio area. We are willing to develop the right candidates however, Ideal candidates will have experience working within an asphalt plant operation and a proven safety track record. Successful candidates will be hard working, willing to learn and will take initiative. Loader Operator Responsibilities: Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment Previous knowledge of OSHA / MSHA regulations Ability to operate other pieces of equipment if needed Comply with all company policies and procedures Loader Operator Desired Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma / GED Valid driver's license Working knowledge of an aggregate plant and aggregate mining operations CAT and John Deere front end loader experience Minimum of three (3) experience operating front end loaders Loader Operator Skills: Excellent verbal, written, telephone, and communication skills Understanding of computerized controls and electronics Able to meet deadlines or production based goals consistently.
