Day shift
Under the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, the mammography technologist performs imaging to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. The mammography technologists perform screening and diagnostic imaging, mammography guided procedures, specimen imaging, and bone density scanning in accordance with the American College of Radiology's appropriateness criteria, or by protocols developed and agreed upon by physician leadership and maintains annual competencies in those areas of imaging. This position is responsible for performing quality mammography procedures, maintaining accurate records and documenting in the EMR, maintaining a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members including breast radiologists and breast surgical practice, quality assurance/quality control required for FDA/ACR, working effectively with patients and families to provide patient care, complies with infection prevention procedures, student education, orientation of new employees, ensures operation of mammography equipment by adhering to standard operating procedures and by troubleshooting and reporting malfunctions to leadership, assists clerical staff in the maintenance of records and files, maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, and other duties as assigned. Must have strong verbal and organizational skills and be able to interact with patients in a fast-paced environment. Travel to additional locations may be required. Mammography certification is required within 12 months of employment within this modality. This position is required to meet the minimum continuing educational requirements established by the state of Ohio and is required to maintain ARRT and ODH licensure. This position adheres to the Practice Standards defined by the ASRT.

Adjusts PET/CT scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate

Provides primary ophthalmic care to patients and acts as clinical assistant to Ophthalmologist/Optometrist.
Knowledge of basic ophthalmic medical terminology and ability to complete patient work up including but not limited to refractometry, tonometry, topography, IOL Master, Visual Fields and OCT.
Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and all pertinent ocular findings with accuracy and attention to detail.
Takes the initiative to explain all testing components and answers any questions the patients may have.

An Ophthalmic Technician is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an ophthalmologist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
Verify patient information by interviewing patient
Recording medical history, current medications and confirming purpose of visit
Records all data in the patient's electronic medical record
Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
Required skills include: dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, COA or COT is preferred.
