Job Summary:
Operate a variety of equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance, and repair of plant quarry operations.
Essential Functions:
1. Safety always wins. Create a zero-incident environment for people by operating the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Take personal responsibility for safety by wearing all required personal protective equipment and properly follow company and OSHA / MSHA safety procedures. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you have the important job of preparing sites for demolition, excavating, and construction. You start each shift by fueling and inspecting vehicles, checking to make sure they're in good condition. Then you load up the necessary tools and equipment and haul them to the job site. Using heavy machinery such as backhoes and excavators, you dig holes and trenches required for structural concrete. You enjoy the variety of projects each day brings, and you carefully follow directions as you prep areas that will become parking lots, sidewalks, loading docks, and driveways.
Some days, you work on prepping sites for roads, bridges, and railroads.
