Key Activities * Transfer completed products into containers of various sizes and types (1 qt cans to tankers). Identify and apply the correct information on the containers and or proper documents while following all fill off and safety procedures * Fill off approved batches ranging from 1 gallon to 5000 gallons into the proper shipping containers * Measure the amount of product into the correct container for proper yield, by weighing and/or measuring the weight of the material in the containers with the tools provided * Once containers are filled and all openings are closed and tightened, check for leaks around the ring, bungs, and chimes * Properly complete the batch ticket as instructed, label all containers, and number them in the sequence they were filled off * Once the batch ticket has been approved and signed by the supervisor, send the containers to the shipping department along with the batch ticket * Properly dispose of filters; wash out the pump; wash the tanks, filter housing, and hoses with the appropriate cleansing material * Properly label and stage all cleaning material in proper areas * Properly label and stencil all containers to satisfy customer and shipment requirements * Perform area housekeeping duties per expectations * Other duties as needed to complete production process Job Requirements Prior Manufacturing experience desired and Prior experience working in a paint manufacturing facility preferred! Individual must be able to specifically be able to: Operate and load the Hogger with plant's scrap corrugated sheets. This is done by hand and by broom. (The Hogger is a machine in which scraps of large and small pieces of corrugated board are pulled into ripper wheels and shredded into small pieces). Operate and inspect the Cyclone that sits on the roof of the plant. To get to the Cyclone, operator must be able to climb a 20' ladder. Operate the Baler. Refile Bale Wire as needed. Bale wire weights 100 lbs and is reloaded every 1-2 weeks. Daily and end of week cleanup. Operate forklift. Individual must possess the following basic skill set: Must be mechanically inclined. Must have basic knowledge of machinery. Must be able to walk safely through the plant and on crosswalks over conveyor belt. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written format to supervisors and peers. Must possess or be able to learn basic computer skills. Must be able to create a safe work environment. Must be willing and able to help on other machines and other areas of production. Above average attendance a must. Safety Requirements: Employee must have the mental clarity and acuity to work around moving conveyor belts, fast moving machinery, balers, forklift traffic, machine rollers and manually compensated cylinders. This position requires physical strength, flexibility and balance in order to maintain utmost safety near the Hogger's shredding mechanism. Reporting to the Heavy Equipment Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator performs a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance of roadsides, highways, pathways and landfill operations. Performs manual labor and functions as a member of a crew as well as independently.
