Learn to read work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets to determine sequence of operation and work requirement.
Align and assemblies parts to be riveted using holding fixtures, pins, clamps and fasteners.

Your responsibilities:
Knows, and observes all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, and environmental practices.
Operates chemical packaging equipment; or, operates one or more of the following pieces of chemical processing equipment according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Calciner
Ribbon Blender/Classifier
Assists with operation of COP equipment
Various pieces of processing equipment associated with HTLP
Troubleshoots all problems that occur on equipment in assigned area and reports issues to supervision.
Inspects and cleans all machinery within their scope of authority and performs minor repairs when necessary.
Prepares assigned equipment for maintenance. Assists maintenance personnel with both preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
Draws product samples at prescribed intervals and submits them to the QC laboratory for analysis.
Maintains an accurate account of daily tasks in the area logbook.
Communicates with previous and incoming shift personnel regarding production, maintenance and other pertinent details as captured in the area logbook.
Responsible for the cleanliness of the area assigned.
May perform other related assignments and operate other equipment as determined by supervision.
Requirements for the role:
High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 6 months experience in an industrial environment
Previous experience operating a forklift preferred
Must be able to become forklift certified
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes the ability to rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Basic computer skills
Self-motivated individual with good time management skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Extruders and co-extruders
Electric saws
Hand saws and hand cutters
Hot dies
Pullers

Able to lift and position 5-15 lb. dies on stationary bolts located from waist to chest height.
Able to read an instruction book written in English to determine the equipment and parts needed and the specs required by the customer.

PRODUCE PARTS: Learn to complete paperwork accurately, legibly and completely.
CLEAN:
Keep area clean and free of debris, water, slip and trip hazards.

Qualifications:
This is a full-time job. 5 days a week/8.5 hours per day. (Or 4 days a week/12 hours per day as needed).
The hours are dependent on the shift being worked.
Ability to count and do basic math problems.
Ability to learn to read a tape measure and calipers.
Ability to read and write.
Capable of communicating effectively with others regarding transferring information.
Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Attention to detail is important.
Capable of problem solving.
Experience in plastic extrusion is not required.
Working conditions:
This job involves shift work, and you may be working days, evenings, or nights. There is a possibility of mandatory working of weekends and holidays, as needed. This is manufacturing work in an unheated, non-air-conditioned warehouse.
Physical requirements:
This job will require the candidate to be able to walk and stand on concrete floors for 8 hours. It will be necessary to be able to lift 25 lbs. to a level of 6 feet, frequently during the shift. The job will also entail a lot of bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, walking up and down stairs, lifting 25-30 lbs. frequently and manual dexterity.
