The Operator role that we are looking to fill is for an MBO Buckle Folder, which produces signatures, covers, inserts, brochures, and any component work common to commercial printing and book manufacturing.
You will work 10-hour shifts (3 p.m.-1 a.m.) Mon-Thurs with the potential of overtime on Fridays. This shift does not rotate, though the occasional weekend, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
Previous Finishing Operator experience including the ability to set up and operate bindery equipment is required. Knowledge of cutting, mailing, and folding is highly desired.
The ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours, and use hands and wrists continuously in a controlled movement.
Receive and follow instructions and use vision to identify defects.
Performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without reasonable accommodation is necessary.
Excellent communication skills, including good verbal and written comprehension, are required.
Excellent attendance and safety record, positive work ethic, and a collaborative team player.

Responsible for reporting any discrepancies in counts to the Inventory Coordinator so that corrections can be made to SAP-WM and SAP as needed. Assist with investigation process to determine reasons for product discrepancies.

As a Production Operator, you will:
Operate a variety of automated and manual manufacturing equipment including mixing/blending, granulation, bagging, and extrusion equipment
Verify raw materials being used are correct per batch documentation, and finished goods are adequately packaged and labeled per documentation
Store/transfer materials and supplies by hand, or with the assistance of a powered industrial lift (seated or standing forklift)
Perform various quality control tests and draw relevant conclusions to make needed adjustment to process operations
Always wear the required personal protective equipment as appropriate
Ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean and orderly
Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Work collaboratively with supervisors, process engineers, maintenance, quality, and supply chain staff to ensure safety, quality, and production standards are achieved

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment (chemical industry experience highly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude and reasoning skills to troubleshoot process operations.
Good data entry and basic computer skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and be able to recognize common errors, malfunctions, and/or deviations in documentation, quality, equipment, and/or performance standards.
Willing and able to work 12-hour day/night shift schedule, and additional over-time as necessary.
Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 55 Ibs., climb stairs and ladders, balance, and stand for long periods of time.
Previous experience operating extruders is a real plus.
Willing and able to operate both seated and standing forklifts (will train).

Work Environment/EHS/Physical Demands:

Responsible for reporting any discrepancies in counts to the Inventory Coordinator so that corrections can be made to SAP-WM and SAP as needed. Assist with investigation process to determine reasons for product discrepancies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate machinery to reduce the gauge of metal coils according to customer and manufacturing specifications.
Load coils into the mill and remove scrap and paper waste from the process.
Remove finished coils and physically lift and change work rolls as necessary.
Serve as the data entry clerk to properly label and tag all metal coils for identification.
Ensure the overall quality of each coil processed through the mill.
Promote a safety culture by adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures.
Read work orders and other instructions to determine product specifications and material requirements.
Set up, operate, and tend to machines that reduce the gauge of metal coils.
Perform daily checklist tasks and operate machinery to move metal coils.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing scrap and other waste, checking machines, and identifying potential hazards.
Participate in training and certification programs as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Understanding of production procedures.
Analytical skills.
Attention to detail.
Teamwork and communication skills.
