Job Overview: Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures. Construct, assemble, or rebuild machines, such as blowers, pumps, boosters, and similar equipment used in such industries as transportation, manufacturing or waste water treatment. Responsibilities: • Create, utilize and improve Standard Work combinations sheets to document machining and assembly processes to ensure consistency and repeatability. Participate in the 5 Why Process to ensure real time problem solving and drive continuous improvement. • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Set and verify parts clearances. • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Measure, examine, and test completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers. • Position and fasten work pieces. Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists. Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies. • Reads, interprets and follows Bill of Material to pull parts for assembly and submits corrections as needed. Assemble units of a variety of sizes and models through use of standard work and interpretation of Engineering controlled documents. Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. • Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled. Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter. • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned. These materials are most often produced from natural deposits of limestone and river sand. Our mining process typically begins with drilling and blasting the rock into smaller pieces. The material goes through various stages of crushing and screening to produce the sizes and specifications desired by our customers. Our aggregates are used in different ways within the construction industry. This position requires experience in operating midsize to larger loaders for product loadout. This position will also be trained and responsible for the daily offloading of product from rail cars. Receives training on preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, generators, engines, air compressors, surface aerators, mixers, screening devices, pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, high speed compressors, turbines, pneumatic operated valves, hydraulic flow meters, automatic electric control devices, chemical feed devices and all other equipment associated with sludge treatment system, conventional and tertiary treatment units. Performs routine electrical and plumbing work. Collects samples and completes basic laboratory analysis as required. Receives training in the operations of the wastewater sludge truck for the purpose of hauling sludge from the wastewater treatment system to the designated area for spreading. Keeps records and logs as required. Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the public. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Purpose We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Machine Operator, specializing in operating either a Turret or a Laser machine. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient operation of the assigned machine, ensuring that metal parts are cut or formed to meet production specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in manufacturing with a focus on CNC machine operation. This position requires someone that has a willingness to learn the art of CNC Machine Operation and has the motivation to grow within the department. To move to the next level, progression will be at the manager's discretion, in addition to passing the skills test for the next level. Team Members must remain in the current class for a minimum of 90 days. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Machine Operation: Operate either a Turret or Laser machine to cut, punch, or form metal parts according to blueprints and work orders. * Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets or parts into the machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate operation. * Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, measurements, and conformity to specifications. Make minor adjustments to ensure high-quality output. * Basic Machine Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on the machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor. * Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. * Documentation: Record production data, including job completion times, material usage, and any issues encountered during the production process. Must operate the following equipment: forklift, pallet jack, bulk bagging system, automatic stacker, liquefier and coder. Maintains a thorough knowledge of packing operations. Strictly follows all Safety procedures and uses all required personal protective equipment. Assures that established policy, procedures and work rules are followed. All other duties as assigned. Safely operate and/or have the ability to operate various equipment including excavator, front loader, bulldozer, or other heavy equipment and/or steer equipment to bale, load and move waste material. Key Responsibilities: * Operate necessary equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers. * Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily. * Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily * Operator will steer, guide and or drive the above listed equipment at the assigned site, if the equipment is used at the particular site(s) using steering wheel, shifters, levers, buttons and pedals. * Operator will substitute for another operator if someone is absent from the work crew or as needed/required. * Operator will clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling and or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more if needed. * Operator will use a two-way radio to communicate with co-workers in the field and or office regarding work activities, Requirements: and priorities for the work day. * Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. * Maintain appearance of the grounds and facility. * Attend safety and branch meetings. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
