ABOUT THE ROLE
The responsibility of this position is the hands-on operation of the terminal equipment and daily operating functions of the terminal as so directed by terminal management.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Customer service, together with providing the final quality control check of the product, are the major factors at the terminal. The manner in which trucks are expedited, customers handled, and activities conducted are vital to providing efficient service to customers.
Maintaining terminal buildings and equipment in good condition and operating equipment safely is vital to continued employment.
Efficient handling of product in both receiving and shipping is essential to efficient terminal operations.
Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law
Responsible for the unloading of barges and or railcars, transferring of the products into proper silos, sampling and testing of products received and shipped.
Loads bulk unit trucks correctly, providing legal weights and proper product for customer delivery or pick up.
Responsible for safe, proper use and operation of unloading equipment (vibrators, compressors, front- end loader, blowers, pumps, vacuum systems, barge moving equipment, railcar mover, pneumatic door opener, boot lifts, hoisting equipment, etc.).
Processes Bill of Ladings.
Proficient in trouble shooting terminal equipment failures
Performs all other duties and functions required by terminal management associated with the operation of the terminal so long as those duties do not present a hazard or violate any known governmental law.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Essential Duties:
Under general supervision, operates in all areas of the plant. Receives direction from the Lead Operator on routine operations. Receives close direction on non-routine operations.

The primary purpose of this position is to transload materials by using a Friction Crane, Forklift (Taylor Lift), Skid Steer, and other heavy equipment, as necessary. Operates and Maintains - 200 Ton Updated P&H Overhead Crane, 140 Ton Manitowoc Friction Truck Crane and a 50 Ton Lima Friction Barge Crane or equal equipment, Front-end loader, Forklifts and Tractor Trailers. Must oversee general management of personnel, equipment and facility for normal terminal operations.
Safe, efficient operation of Friction Rig / Crane or any equipment involved at the terminal.
Maintains equipment by performing preventative maintenance i.e., lubricating, cleaning, adding gear lubricants, changing cables and document all activities performed daily.
Responsible for the crane adjustments-brakes, clutches, motors, and support equipment - Air and Hydraulic systems.
Check all fluids and air pressures.
This position assist the existing Crane Operator as needed and will also require operating forklifts, driving trucks and various equipment throughout the Port facility. Person will also be required to work on and around barges and the dock, as needed.

Performs basic analytical tests, including pH, density, and alkalinity
Adjusts gas flow to control evaporator temperatures and samples evaporators
Operates forklift and loader
Charges solid raw materials from bags, supersacks, drums, or bulk storage
Loads drums and/or tote containers to correct weight
Maintains plant housekeeping
Must maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures impacting work performed and observe safe work practices at all time
Responsible for personal safety through compliance with plant safety policies and procedures
Recognizes and addresses unsafe actions or conditions to ensure the personal safety of fellow employees and to protect plant facilities
Must be fully competent in the use of all tools and instruments required to perform job duties
Must have basic process chemistry knowledge, including properties of acids, bases, and solvents
Must have understanding of which raw materials are used for particular process steps
Must understand the sequence in which tanks are used and the contents of the tanks during processing
Other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
EXPERIENCE: 1+ years related plant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Valid & Current Driver's License, Vocational training preferred
OTHER:
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2007 or greater proficiency
Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening
Must possess a valid Driver's License
Able and willing to work a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime (if applicable)
Able and willing to work in inclement weather, climb structures, perform work at heights, and in enclosed spaces
Able and willing to work both independently in remote locations and in a team environment
