Job Description
The Loader Operator will be responsible for safe and efficient operation primarily using a front-end loader and the occasional operation of other heavy equipment to transport earthen material, process equipment, and components. Additional responsibilities include performing physical and manual labor-related tasks such as maintenance, cleaning and manually material sorting.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Inspect equipment carefully before every shift. Check all fluids for proper levels before operating.
* Keep loader clean inside and out.
* Perform any necessary routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating and fueling.
* Grease loader every shift according to the environment.
* Blow out air filters between servicing- usually once per shift.
* Reporting parts or supplies needed to do the repairs.
* Responsible for ensuring all piles are labeled correctly.
* Follow all Safety Operating Guidelines (SOGs)
* Perform related work and additional duties as requested/assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience preferably in and around soils screening, soil moving, and soil processing operations
* Experience in using a Loader Operator required
* Mechanical ability a plus
* Good work ethic, self-motivated
* Knowledge and experience operating front end wheel loaders; excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other similar equipment.
* Knowledge of equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, and cleaning standards.
* Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner and to follow safety policies and procedures.
* Solid communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
* Creative thinker with ability to consider "out of the box" solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to deal politely and professionally with coworkers and company visitors.
* Ability to follow directions or instructions.
* Ability to use a computer to access training portals.
