Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Grand Rapids, MI. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).
Available Shifts: 1st shift: 5:30 a.m. - 4pm and 3rd shift: 7 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.
Machine Operator Summary:
Working independently within teams and/or cells, an Operator III is responsible for accurately and efficiently operating equipment and performing duties required to produce products that meet customer quality, delivery schedules and cost standards while following all safety policies. He / she completes documentation in accordance with existing policies and procedures and participates in continuous improvement activities. The job incumbent will be required to operate complex machinery with minimal supervision. Supports set-up of complex equipment as required including but not limited to verification of capability to meet customer requirements on completion of set-up. The incumbent is trained and qualified to perform multiple operations (over 90%) both within and outside of assigned production area or cell. Sets-up and is certified to provide employee training on both the operation and set-up of complex equipment. May serve as a back-up to Team Leader as needed.
Machine Operator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performs production operations including but not limited to assembly using heat guns, machining operations using heat guns, press, saws, hot wire equipment, ovens, water jets, laminating and routing equipment as well as complex machinery, as required.
* Understands and completes process documentation including but not limited to production orders and travelers, to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
* Qualified to run multiple operations/equipment (over 90%) both within and outside of assigned production area or cell.
* Monitors operations to ensure quality and productivity requirements are achieved.
* Certified to provide machine and process training support as requested by team leader or supervisor.
* Visually reviews and inspects parts for non-conformance to customer specifications.
* Monitors operations to ensure quality and productivity match documented work instructions and may make corrective decisions regarding a process or machines capability to meet requirements, as requested.
* Reports discrepancies to team leader or supervisor.
* Participates in the identification and implementation of corrective actions.
* May be required to complete die changes and tooling changes.
* Performs and supports set-up of complex machinery and is able to determine capability to meet customer requirements.
* Demonstrates leadership skills and may serve as back-up to Team Leader as needed.
* Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Machine Operator Qualification Requirements:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated ability and or certified to set-up and run complex machinery. Operator II work experience required.
* General manufacturing skills, blue print reading, advanced math skills and use of standard and metric measuring equipment and basic computer skills.
* Must work well in a team environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, supervisors and managers.
* Ability to effectively train less experienced operators.

We are currently hiring for 3rd Floor Bran-Lubbe and Worcestershire Kitchen Operators on first shift. This person is responsible for the production of brines, vinegars, Worcestershire sauce for the packaging lines! As you develop your skills there is plenty of room for growth to other roles within the factory.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Work in a safe manner, following all general safety rules of the plant. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
* Following PPE requirements
* Escalating safety defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
* Assure that we are always working to meet or exceed our quality standards. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
* Following GMP requirements
* Inspecting raw materials and finished goods
* Completing quality documentation
* Assisting in rework as assigned
* Escalating quality defects and concerns to leads/supervisors
* Responsible for the operation and utilization of the Worcestershire kitchen equipment, Bran-Lubbe equipment, ingredient mixing equipment, line heating and supply system, bulk drum/toting system, storage system, and quality control systems in the facility which includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
* Setting up equipment
* Changing over equipment
* Shutting down equipment
* Sterilizing line supply systems
* Operating a forklift
* Preparing brine and Worcestershire batches
* Troubleshoot equipment as necessary
* Support Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) at the operator level. This includes, but is not limited to, participation in the following processes:
* Shift hand off meetings
* Level 1 meetings
* Performance boards
* Centerline Management (CLM)
* Clean to Inspect and Reapply Lubrication (CIL)
* 5S
* Defect handling
* Startup/shut down
* Changeovers
* Daily problem handling
* Work with support departments to improve line performance
* Utilize a computer and programs for communication, reports, and daily monitoring
* Keep work area clean and orderly
* Perform any other duty as assigned
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 - 100 pounds, requesting assistance as necessary.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed during his/her job to high noise levels, chemicals, exposure to strong odors, fumes or airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.
Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear company authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection and other personal protective equipment to successfully perform the functions of this job safely.
Qualifications:
* Upon hire will train to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification
* Upon hire will train to become Forklift certified and maintain qualification
* Must successfully pass on the job training and maintain operator qualification
* Able to read, write, and perform basic math functions, such as, multiplication and addition

Work Schedule:
This position is responsible for operating large equipment such as a switch truck, hydraulic crane, nibbler crane, mobile crane, large loader and /or trac-mobile. Actively participates and displays behaviors of the company values. Must have a valid driver's license.
Accountabilities
Use equipment to load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks or rail cars, and/or to move materials to designated areas.
Maintain necessary reports for production and inventory, outbound truck, railcar loads and machine maintenance.
Distinguish between different grades and types of materials.
