This shift runs from 4:45PM to 3:15AM, Monday thru Thursday for 2nd and it offers a $1.50 shift diff from day one. The training on the machine for this shift will run for 4-6 weeks on 1st shift and the candidate will then be moved to their designated shift. Mandatory overtime during the week or weekend when needed. Duties and responsibilities: • Operates assigned CNC (Computer numerical control machinery) that utilizes preprogrammed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. This process is used to run many different types of machinery, including grinders, lathes, mills, and routers. This machinery cuts, drills, grinds, and shapes a variety of materials, from metal to plastic; • Operate machinery and equipment according to work instructions; • Troubleshoot issues and perform routine and minor maintenance. Submit work orders for the maintenance requirements; • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, engineering change orders or job orders to determine product specification and tooling instructions; • Follows reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor or lead; • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area; • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management; • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures; • Assists in other work areas as needed and directed by the department supervisor; • Operate overhead cranes; • Use digital calipers to insure accuracy; • Comply with all safety procedures; • True temp to hire position with an excellent benefit packet; • This position is eligible for the Step Progression Program; ask HR for details on your interview. Qualifications and Experience • Minimum 6 months machine operator experience preferred; • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision; • Must be able to read and write legibly and complete production reports with accuracy; • Must be able to read and use tape measure; • Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail using measuring devices; • Must be quality oriented and a team player; • Must have complete understanding of safe work practices. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for safely operating various heavy equipment that perform the spreading and compaction of construction and demolition, and/or commercial and residential waste disposed of at the landfill or post collection facilities. Equipment operators are exposed to unpleasant odors and sights, and weather elements. Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Responsibilities of Position: Perform efficient safe operation of bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, front end loaders, wheel loaders, off road dump trucks, and other equipment. Safely move material in a manner which does not endanger personnel or equipment. Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections on equipment and complete necessary forms. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, (i.e., lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment). Operate various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and/or related assignments. Continuously monitor the equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal down time. Cleans waste from equipment body and wheels or tracks. Professional interaction with internal and external customers. Proficiently completes all operating and labor tasks assigned. Clean waste from equipment body and wheels throughout the day. Operate equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing). Also, ability to withstand “bumpy” ride on equipment. Must be able to complete training on other landfill equipment, as necessary. Must be dependable, a self-starter, and able to identify and perform daily operational requirements. Ability to work in conditions with exposure to weather elements. Good verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with others. Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate equipment. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, and safety training.
