Position Overview:
The Printer Operator works closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the printing a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS *
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Front-end Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsibility of maintaining activities of the printer/decorator beverage cans with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
Ability to operate, safe operation, and the maintaining of decorator equipment.
Communicates all pertinent information between the supervisor, quality control, departments, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related information.
Assists and trains and/or coaching of all new operators as needed or required.
Applies skills, methods to improve plant production.
Inspects product to ensure compliance to quality standards
Responsible in maintaining quality and modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, schedule, monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting and process control sheets.
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
High School Education/GED
2-3 year(s) in setup/operating/adjusting printing decorators in a manufacturing environment.
Able to operate, read, understand, measuring x rite color density guage, and computers.
Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.

Setting up filling machine(s), tapers, glue machines, scales and other equipment as needed
Support all packaging line changeovers inclusive of hook-ups, sampling, and line unit operations
Ensuring quality of filled containers in terms of proper weight and appearance including labeling accuracy, completeness and positioning, date code accuracy, legibility and position, container cleanliness, etc.
Checking product and package appearance for any inconsistencies from specification. Unusual product or package appearance should be brought to the attention of the Team Leader immediately.
Conducting line checks including Team Leader sign off on quality tests at the beginning and end of each production run to ensure product purity and documenting production and quality data as required.
Packaging products per specification and when applicable to FDA guidelines and requirements, meaning in a manner that conforms with laws pertaining to transportation of chemicals, meets customer needs, and ensures that the product arrives at the destination intact.
Loading individual or boxed products on good quality pallets manually or using material handling equipment.
Maintaining work areas to standard by executing tasks related to systems of AM, CIL, 5S, Defect Handling, etc.
