Fill Off
* Transfer completed products into containers of various sizes and types (1 qt cans to tankers). Identify and apply the correct information on the containers and or proper documents while following all fill off and safety procedures
* Fill off approved batches ranging from 1 gallon to 5000 gallons into the proper shipping containers
* Measure the amount of product into the correct container for proper yield, by weighing and/or measuring the weight of the material in the containers with the tools provided
* Once containers are filled and all openings are closed and tightened, check for leaks around the ring, bungs, and chimes
* Properly complete the batch ticket as instructed, label all containers, and number them in the sequence they were filled off
* Once the batch ticket has been approved and signed by the supervisor, send the containers to the shipping department along with the batch ticket
* Properly dispose of filters; wash out the pump; wash the tanks, filter housing, and hoses with the appropriate cleansing material
* Properly label and stage all cleaning material in proper areas
* Properly label and stencil all containers to satisfy customer and shipment requirements
* Perform area housekeeping duties per expectations
Batch making
* Raw materials are added in the arranged order on the batch ticket
* Weighs/measures all materials used in the process for yield and accuracy of completed batches
* Coordinates sample testing with QC and makes necessary hits/changes to batch as instructed by QC
* Must practice and sustain expected housekeeping standard in work area
* Must move to other tasks such as fill off and tank washing when needed once trained
Milling/Grinding operation
* Operate the machine controls to achieve a specified flow and temperature limit

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Operator position serves as a key participant in the interaction between the Company (and other crew members), other contractors and our customers. * After training, participate as a member of the chemical emergency response team.
* Maintain TDI gas monitor at head of round block and flat block lines.
* Assemble mix heads for all lines: round, flat, and CO2.
* Set up machinery in preparation of production runs.
* Start up and shut down machine properly.
* Properly secure TDI, water, and or tin injectors into mix head.
* Operate: main pour/purge switch, conveyor, fall plates, mixer, and fence on round and flat lines.
* Monitor production variables and ensure the variables fall within an acceptable range.
* Monitor cream line and foam for any defects and react accordingly.
* Remove and properly clean TDI, water, and or tin injectors.
* Clean mix head after end of run and remove mix head at the end of the week for proper cleaning.
* Prepare nozzles for round and wing pours.
* Prepare sieve package for CO2.
* Properly clean sieves after CO2 pour.
* This position may be required to work daily and/or weekend overtime.
* Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
* Cross train in other positions as required.
Qualifications:
* High school graduate or equivalent; or combination of education and experience.
* Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

General Summary of the Position
Teamwork is a major part of every position at Ruston Paving, so it is important to note that, aside from all other listed responsibilities, you must be willing to assist others and be as productive as possible. The excavation and grading equipment operator safely operates a variety of motorized equipment used in the preparation, repair, reconstruction, and construction of site work and asphalt paving projects. The operator must perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in accordance with the essential functions of the position.
Essential Functions
The following are a list of essential functions for the position. These are responsibilities that an individual must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
Operates some or all of the following construction and power equipment: excavator, grader, bulldozer, backhoe, front end loader, skid steer, asphalt paver, dirt/asphalt roller, asphalt reclaimer, soil stabilizer, and asphalt milling machine.
Works with and assists the grading or paving crews to remove or install stone, dirt, asphalt pavement or storm water systems with or without the use of heavy equipment. Periodically, it may be necessary to assist ground personnel with the use of hand tools based on the project s scope of work.
Occasionally operates jackhammers, saws, and other small equipment and tools as required.
Performs routine maintenance and emergency repairs, reports complex mechanical problems for shop repairs, and cleans equipment as needed.
Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards as determined by law, jobsite requirements, and company policies.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles driven, equipment moved, and trailers towed, noting any defects or deficiencies both verbally and in writing.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Additional Requirements and Benefits
Employee shifts start and end at the local division office/shop. Transportation to and from the job site is provided.
We pride ourselves on our clean appearance on every job site! Laundered uniforms and personal protective equipment are provided and must be worn in accordance with the company policy.
Although it does not occur very often, projects may require out of town overnight stays. Per diem pay is offered when these projects occur.
We provide double time pay for weekend work.
Employees may be sent to other facility locations and operations to perform duties as required.
