Finally, through a thorough understanding of Copart policy, the Loader Operator will facilitate the Copart experience by offering solutions to meet customers' needs. Ensures equipment is maintained according to company standards and customer contracts. Operates company equipment safely. Assists with the maintenance of company equipment and vehicles. Records vehicle information accurately and legibly. Operates digital camera or other basic vehicle documentation and tracking devices. Sets up yard for auctions within company timelines. Scope Under general direction from the Production Supervisor, the Operator is responsible for safely assembling finished product using components, sub-assemblies, fasteners and packaging material following all SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and in compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions * Review and follow all SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions and/or drawings to determine required assembly finish on product, pack and any special options to completion. * Check and maintain accurate inventory of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners to complete production orders. * Safely operate power hand tools and heavy shop machines, as well as operate controls and safety stops on machines to make working models with moving parts. * Carry out finishing processes like hand painting with strong attention to detail. * Meet all production output goals as aligned with PPLH (Parts Per Labor Hour) standards and budget targets * Follow all Company safety policies, rules and procedures at all times; maintain a strong safety mindset. Always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for work being performed. * Accurate completion of all documentation and production reporting following all Company, Quality and Regulatory guidelines. Maintain accurate records of time spent and material used within established standards. * Perform basic arithmetic calculations for accurate production reporting. * Operate scan guns for production order processes and inventory. * Work and communicate in a team environment and/or independently as needed to achieve successful production and quality goals. * Promptly raise any safety, quality or production issues to appropriate parties, and work with support functions to quickly resolve issues. * Ability to cross train and rotate between various areas within the department throughout the shift. * Assist with training new full time and/or temporary employees as needed in compliance with all safety, quality and production policies, rules and procedures. * All other duties as assigned.
