Position Summary
The Pilot Line Chemical Operator will join the AirJoule operations team at their pilot line site in Newark, DE. This is a critical position which will directly enable the strategic growth of AirJoule as the key technologies are developed from the lab-scale to pre-production and production scales. The chemical operator should be familiar with operating various chemical processing equipment (pumps, mixers, blowers, etc.), be skilled in troubleshooting equipment, be skilled with common hand tools, have a proven record of adhering to safe operating practices with a safety-first mindset, and have experience with data collection.
Key Responsibilities

Chemical preparation and loading for liquid chemical batch production.
Operating chemical equipment throughout batch production.
Data recording and analysis of batch progress and completion using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Assist in design of experiments and data trend analysis.
Troubleshoot problems that arise with the processing equipment (pumps, mixers, ovens, etc.).
Quantitative analysis using tools such as viscometers, density cups, conductivity probes, pH probes, microscopes, and more.
Strict adherence to company PPE and safety policies.
Write standard operating procedure (SOP) documents in conjunction with the Process Development Engineer.
Recommend future process improvements including safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
Keep an appropriate inventory of chemicals and consumables to ensure sufficient supply for production.
Handle multiple tasks within required time frames.
Properly handle and dispose of waste generated from production.
Ensure manufacturing area remains clean throughout and after batch production.
Uphold a safe, respectful, collaborative, inclusive, and appreciative team environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or Certification in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Operations, Industrial Engineering, etc.
Minimum Experience: 3 + years of experience in a chemical production facility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Chemical process equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Writing, following, updating, and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Strong interpersonal communications to work well in a team environment.
Experience in handling hazardous chemicals and upholding safety standards in the plant.
Adherence to company PPE policies including use of chemical bunny suits, safety goggles, nitrile gloves, face shields, respirators, etc.
Passions in hands-on work and project execution to commercialize products.

POSITION PURPOSE The Chemical Operator will monitor and operate equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Additional responsibilities include always maintaining safety standards and initiating and following emergency procedures when necessary. The Operator will perform basic maintenance repair and upkeep on area equipment. Job tasks are performed in control room, lab areas, and throughout various operation areas of the site.
The site operates a process safety management-covered process that produces sulfuric acid in multiple concentrations. Product is shipped in rail cars, tank trucks and portable totes.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
● Start up and shut down (normal and emergency) plant systems and components.
● Operate, monitor and control plant systems; visually inspect, monitor equipment and process conditions.
● Prepares equipment for maintenance work by isolating, clearing and locking out.
● Reviews, follows and, if qualified, revises detailed process operating procedures, maintenance procedures and safety procedures.
● Troubleshoots equipment to restore to normal operation.
● Analyzes charts and logs to identify potential or actual problems.
● Identifies system problems to stabilize plant to normal conditions.
● Trains new operators in the area, reinforcing safety and environmental principles.
● Performs loading and unloading of railcars, tank trucks and totes.
● Perform laboratory analysis of products.
● Clerical duties as required.
● Shipping duties as required.
● Operate mobile equipment including manlifts, fork trucks, yard-dog and trackmobile.
● Participate/Lead various site teams.
● Recognize abnormalities in a High Hazard work area and promptly initiate action to secure the safety of all personnel along with protection of the environment and local community.
Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:
● High School Diploma/GED equivalent
● Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
● Ability to navigate the tools of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and learn new computer systems and software applications
● Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and short notice call-in if required
● Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
● Willing and able to work in a High Hazard environment; outdoors, indoors, elevated heights and confined spaces

● Experience maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting industrial equipment/machinery
The following skill sets are preferred by the site:
● High Hazard/Chemical operations experience
● Experience reading and interpreting Schematics, Pipe & Instrumentation Diagrams, Procedures, Manufactures' Literature, Safety Requirements, General Instructions; ability to learn and detect process deviations
● Experience operating fork trucks
● Experience with SAP or equivalent Manufacturing Operations software

DuPont CMP Technologies business is the global market leader in consumables for chemical mechanical planarization or polishing (CMP). The CMP step in semiconductor fabrication creates a planar surface on a semiconductor wafer through the interaction of a pad and slurry on a polishing tool. A smooth planar surface enables the lithography step to be more effective, circuits to be made smaller and more layers of circuitry to be built. Our portfolio offers a full range of hard and soft polishing pads and slurries designed to meet unique performance needs for different CMP applications and nodes.

Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:
Operates automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devices.
Responsible for complex liquid / chemical batch manufacturing, which also requires familiarity of a variety of production machines that serve as either internal suppliers or customers to the chemical operator. Equipment includes but not limited to: mixers, agitators, pumps, differential pressure cells & gauges, valves, automated and manual delivery systems.
Responsible to off load and package intermediate and final products, as well as waste.
Ensure safety guidelines/rules are strictly followed; verify that preventive measures are in place before operating; utilize SDS regularly; wear required PPE & PPC, up to and including full-face respirators and in accordance w/ site and area procedures; utilize extreme caution for process safety due to chemicals used; conduct monthly safety audits; recognize safety concerns and escalate via processes; participate in SHINE (5S PROGRAM) program.
Utilizing strong attention to detail and multi-tasking, responsible for quality control of product, which includes frequent in-process and final product quality testing. Respond to out-of-control points by either following established action plans for process disruptions or adjusting equipment as appropriate for equipment disruptions.
Required to identify and complete preventive maintenance at a basic level. Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.

Basic Purpose
Positions in this job family are responsible for operating power equipment and performing related tasks in the maintenance and repair of highways.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Operates equipment or heavy machinery such as trucks, tractors, road graders, dozers, front-end loaders, cranes, backhoes, paint machines, semi-trailers, snow removal equipment and other equipment as needed.
Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
Repairs failures in the roadway shoulders or bridge decks.
Repairs and/or replaces signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
Provides traffic control assistance using a stop/slow sign or flag to direct highway traffic.
Applies herbicide to highway rights-of-way to control weeds and other unwanted vegetation.
Remove debris including tires, animal carcasses, spilled items and other obstacles.

Chemical Operator I - Resto Manufacturing - Dept. # 3745 - 3rd Shift
Job Summary:
Perform a broad variety of manufacturing assignments/tasks related to operating a variety of manufacturing mixing equipment.
Job Duties:
* Responsible for closely following batch formulas used in the production of a variety of products. Responsibilities include: properly setting up equipment, weighing out various liquid and powder raw materials (may include converting US weights to METRIC weights), loading mixing equipment with liquids and powders, monitoring process controls and making adjustments and minor repairs to machines as necessary.
* Monitors process and/or loading, unloading, cleaning or setting up of equipment.
* Processes work orders on time and efficiently according to set standards.
* Weighs raw materials, final products, etc.
* Uses statistical process control, including automated data acquisition devices, to monitor quality.
* Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area. Participates in department 5S program.
* Counts and records production units and labor hours.
* Meet and exceed all quality standards set forth for the department and division. Accurately and neatly documents all quality documents.
* Other duties as assigned
Education:
* High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
Certifications/Licensing:
* N/A
Years and Type of Experience:
* 6 months production experience
Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, metric measurement and decimals. Ability to use a calculator, convert weights from US standards to METRIC standards and use of Statistical Processes is required.
* Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Associate may be cross-trained to perform other duties within the department as needed.
* Required to participate in various EHS programs.
All external will be required to pass a basic reading, writing & math test (15 minutes in length) on the day of their on-site interviews
