Drivers are responsible for overseeing and leading Armstrong's full-cycle transportation initiatives, including, but not limited to packing, padding, inventory, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking. The Driver will operate a Class A Van hauling less than 1700 miles to receive, store, and distribute equipment and goods. This requires handling materials, as well as overseeing helpers in the packing, loading, and unloading of materials. Strong Customer Service skills are required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate trucks for the local delivery, pick-up, and relocation of product and materials. Protect customer's items and property using pads, tape, and other material to prevent damage during loading, transit, and unloading. Ensure each item and its condition is accurately listed on the Shipment Inventory. Ensure all other shipment paperwork, such as Bills of Lading, Statements of Accessorial Services, Inventories, and Weight Tickets, is properly completed. Qualifications Qualifications:• CDL Class A license with “H” (Hazmat) endorsement required• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
