ADMS Operations Systems Engineering


Position Summary


The Consultant in ADMS and Operations Systems Engineering supports electric utilities across North America implement, maintain, and test their ADMS systems and integration strategy with other Operational Systems (OMS, DERMS, FLISR, VVO, etc.). Our company maintains a remote office setting so you can work from your home when you are not performing as-needed travel to client sites. The Consultant considers all aspects of power system design and operation to evaluate performance and develop recommendations to maintain client expectations for the use of the operations systems in maintaining reliability of the distribution power system. The ideal candidate will be expected to apply sound and diversified knowledge of power engineering principles and practices.


Responsibilities
Performing maintenance of the distribution network model in OMS (Outage Management System) Perform OMS Model design, conversion, test writing, and test execution Provide high-level technical expertise to other practice areas Provide peer review and editorial feedback Manage client expectations through regular communications to establish project objectives and formulate an agreed upon project approach


Qualifications


The successful candidate will have:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems Distribution Operations experience at an Electrical utility company with routine experience using ADMS/OMS systems A minimum of 3 years of experience managing and dispatching power system outages on the electrical distribution system for utilities using ADMS/OMS systems A minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining distribution system network model in ADMS / OMS systems by performing model design, conversion, test writing, and test execution Storm Operations expertise focused on OMS. Experience with OSI ADMS and/or Oracle NMS is preferred. Experience with testing / implementing DERMS, FLISR, VVO systems is preferred. Additional experience with electric distribution system planning, design, reliability, construction, operations, and maintenance of utility distribution power system is preferred. High proficiency in using Excel to analyze operational data sets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Excellent negotiation and consensus-building skills Comfortable and effective working independently, as well as leading and working in teams across functional groups that vary from fundamentally technical to non-technical


Requirements:
